who still shoots aluminium arrows???? soundoff
I've noticed in recent years its harder and harder to get aluminium arrows and arrow components in the local shops....just wondering how many guys still shoot them out of their compounds? i still do, and i feel like im a rare breed.
just got a dozen easton 2117 superslams @ 28 inches(12 grains per inch bareshaft)......using 125 grain tips i think my finished arrowweight isa little over 500 grainswith 4 inch feathers....i now get all my arrows through Eagle archeryLLC(great prices and quick to ship)since my shops aluminium arrow selection is prettylacking.
2004 Martin Prowler se 28.5 inch draw @ 62lbs give or take
NAP shock blocker
whisker buiscut
cobra sidewinder 5(with only 3 pins because 2 pins the fiber op pulled out)

Just how do you break a carbon arrow? I have not broken a Beman ICS Hunter (yet... I've lost one or two, but never literally broken one in two before).

i shoot my alums better than ill ever shoot those....i just cant see myself paying $10+ an arrow for decent carbons
the only disadvatagethe Superslams have vs Carbon(in my eyes)would be the heavier weight wich isnt a disadvatage depending on how you see things .

Uh yeah.... PLEASE, don't show that photo anymore. I love shooting carbons. That photo of the imbedded arrow in the hand, creeps me out!

P.S. What arrow brand was that, if I could ask... (hopefully not Beman!)

That is an old photo, but we just had a member have this happen recently. The thread should be around here somewhere.
I still shoot aluminums. I actually started with carbons and switched to aluminums because I like them better.
2213's for me.

I don't shoot 'embut my Dad still finds it very difficult to leave his alums behind. He has an assortment of CX's and GT's but when deer season arrives, he reaches for his trusted XX78 2413's.
