RE: Deer hunting stories, interest?
I think we would enjoy all stories. I willadd onwith a diaster story, but not much loss.
The hunt was late season duringJanurary I drove about 85 miles to the deer camp to hunt for one day. I just had that feeling. I had hunted about 2 weeks earlier in the rain for about3 or 4 days. I was at what I called the penoak stand. I had been sitting there for about 1 hour an a nice size doe came in and was looking for acrons. I waited for a shot an had the chance. I started pulling the trigger on the release an noticed that it seemed hard to pull, an when it did go off the arrow hit about 3 feet to the left of the deer. The doestarted looking around an could not figured out what happened, I fired again same effect! I then had one arrow left, the doe had moved out to about 30 yards, had one arrow left an I dropped it. The doe just moved on, but I think I could hear her laughing. The problem wassolved after I put some WD40 on the release an cleaned it up. |
