RE: Carbon Arrows VS. Aluminum Arrows
Nice thing about carbon is that an arrow, after hitting somethingnot friendly to arrows, is going to either be OK or destroyed. Aluminum can be somewhere in the middle - not messed up bad enough to throw away and not straight enough for anything but bow fishing.

RE: Carbon Arrows VS. Aluminum Arrows
ORIGINAL: gutshot I'll just say that I've never bent a carbon arrow.:D As far weight goes, carbons are getting heavier so depending on what aluminums you shoot weights can be similar. You can get lighter carbon arrows though. And light carbon arrows do not penetrate better than heavier ones. They might get the job done if you have enough energy in your set up, but a 350 grn carbon is not going to penetrate better than 520 grn aluminum (or carbon for that matter). No way no how. Carbons get better every year, but in my opinion at the moment aluminums still have better quality control for the money. And the thick walled aluminums are pretty tough if you don't abuse them. Don't believe the hype, carbons are not indestructible. They can break, warp and lose spine over time. And if you get cheap ones they are not that great from the beginning sometimes. I agree, if you have the money get ACC's. My opinions anyway. Paul |

ANOTHER VOTE FOR CARBONS!!

RE: Carbon Arrows VS. Aluminum Arrows
If you want penetration go with the small diameter thick walled carbons.

RE: Carbon Arrows VS. Aluminum Arrows
not familar with acc but I have tried many other big name carbonbrands and I do not abuse them but they like to crack where the nocks are all the time i have considered going back to aluminum!
