No. Deer hunting in IA sucks!!! Ticks were bad last year; desimated the herd.

All my big deer are 1.5 year old bucks that are all jacked up on the juice. I use steriods to fertilize our beans and corn

There are very few mature bucks where hunt, and when youdo kill one - it'll be 3 miles from the nearest road or trail.

Were they "mature" ticks at least?

I didn't tag one with the bow last year. I won't shoot a buck unless its 145 or better. I killed a 153 with my rifle, sorry. Of those at least 22 P&Y bucks, 4 were over 160" and one was guranteed pushing 200". Good year of hunting, just a poor year for shooting! LOL

I think there are mature deer everywhere. Atleast a couple, they just can behard to see/find

I've found 60 deer sheds this year in my hunting areas. 3 sheds are from mature bucks.. (4.5 years or older)

10 elk sheds... 4 from mature bulls. (6.5 yrs or older)


They are out there, you just have to find them, all it takes is one.
