Whitetail Deer Body Weight
 

Since all I hunt is whitetails, I was just curious what is the largest field dressed deer anyone has taken and where from. I have two from west central Illinois that have tipped the scales at 250lbs field dressed.

Biggest deer I ever got was a buck in 2005 who was 225 dressed, this was from public land in south central Iowa.

Alas, I've shot deer in several states and the biggest was from a state where I've also shot on average the smallest. The biggest dressed at 186 in Maryland on a scale. The largest average I have is probablyfrom NY but none of mine ever beat the 186 and I've killed a lot of deer in NY. I've seen many bigger ones killed in Maryland, Ga, Kentucky, Texasand NY... but I never got them. I'm the king of 130-160 pound deer. LOL I have relatives in Ontario that own thousands of acres. I just got to make a plan to go bow hunting some day. They own every thing you see in this picture and more. And yes, the lake is their's as is the Eastern shore you can't see. There are no roads from this point to as far as you can see in the picture. And I've never made it a plan to go hunting. Go figure. Bears, the works... all unmolested. Pete doesn't hunt and he owns it. I have fished the lake a few times. Many as a kid when it was really great and as recently as 3 years ago.There is another lake through the slot between the 2 mountains that you have to walk to of course. I remember my mother writing me when I was in Vietnam all excited, they had gotten power into the house. That was in 1968. LOL Pete owns a large company that deals internationally in erosion control systems of all varieties. His company is in Ottawa but this is 150 miles north of Quebec. It's been in the family since .... well before I was born. It doesn't get hunted and they'd never open it up to strangers. Family yes. He's my cousin.

Here's the McCovic/Mullroney family decendants at a little family reunion 3 years ago in the basement of Pete's lake house. Most gracious host. A story of country boy who worked his butt off and did well. He has about 4 trailers and a couple cabins on the place for children, grand children an all to come to for the weekend. He always has an opening for his USA relatives. :DHis lake house is very nice but not over the top. Just really comfortable and so much like Pete, real inviting. I have more relatives in Canada than I do in the USA. Your's truly... back right. Pete, back left.2 of my brothers and sister in between. Aunt, brother, aunt and cousins in front row. My one Aunt died a couple years ago. The one on the left is my Aunt Clara,,,, 94 and still drives everywhere with a lead foot. She my mom's sister and the designated family matriarch.

well it may be hard to belive but where i hunt in northern indiana i had a doe that dressed 211 this last fall. biggest buck weight was 289, my aunt shota big 15 point that one deer of the year in indiana that dressed 301

I hunt so close to home......I never field dress my deer until I have them near the house. I weigh all my deer "on the hoof".

First deer I shot, this year, weighed 182 lbs. (as a 2.5 yr old). Last one weighed 181 (as a rutting 3.5 yr old).

240lbs Neillsville Wi. Biggest bodied deer taken off our farm ever. The second was a doe I shot that dressed out at 210 back in 98. The doe in this pic dressed out at 160. They were all weighed on a state certified scale.

220-something Ohio 3.5 year old buck. I don't have any digital pics of it but it had the longest legs of any deer I have ever seen. The buck I shot this year and is posted in the contest was over 200, but I don't remember the exact weight. All I know is he hurt my back getting him into the truck bed... LIFT WITH YOUR LEGS.

My 2006 buck dressed 267lbs, weighed on scales at the meat locker. But he hada lot of fat on him, since I harvested him before the rut. When he was walking, his body would jiggle. lol

I shot a buck this year that was 230 on the money. He had already dropped his rack and this was the middle of Dec. I sure wish I could have shot him in the pre-rut I would have loved to have seen his rack and I bet he was a good 260. these weights were hogg dressed.

My biggest was this past seasons 186# dressed. I cannot imagine those 200+ deer. This one was a tank, and didn't even break 200.
Biggest doe is just shy of 140# dressed. All from western PA.

You're welcome Davepir71. I got it from a shop here in town about 20 years ago and have hung onto it. I covered up their name because it wasn't MY PRO shop. LOL I think their edible meat figure must be scraping and using ever sliver that's red. Other than my brother, I don't know to many people that recover that much. As I like to say, he eats every thing except the hoofs.

My heaviest so for has weighed 200 lbs, most of them have been in the 150-175 range. The does weight has been around 90-120.

Biggest deer was a 5 point buck that had been hit by a car earlier in the year and had a broken front leg. Shot him back in 2002. His rack was so screwed up I could not get my hands around his antler bases. Dressed weight at the processor was 228 lbs. The DNR agent aged the deer at 8 and 1/2 years. Massive animal! I will try and post some pics.

Most if not all my bucks have ranged in the 150-200 lb range, none that I remember looked any heavier, I didn't weigh them.

My high school friend took one, one of the biggest I've personally seen here, weighed in at 217 field dressed, live weight would have been what 250ish?

Largest i have taken was about 160-170- never actually weighed him. There are only a few bucks taken in Nj that go over 200 (that you hear about), the state actually recognizes you at the annual deer show if you get one over 200.
