Man O man, are u ever lucky nothing permanent happened to your hand! That really sux, I hope u make a speedy recovery. One good thing, is at least it isn't hunt'n season.Take your time w/physical therapy. Let it heal & don't push it. I found out the hard way & ended up starting phys. therapy all over when they found out I wasn't healing right. Good luck.

You will not be shooting a bow for a while. You say it doesn't look that bad, but there's a lot of swelling to me on the top view. You're really lucky. It could have been worse.

I then pulled the arrow out(I know a mistake)...blood then was everywhere.
Would it be ethical or proper to ask how was the blood trail?[8D]:D

Just Kidding, being serious Ipray you have a quick recovery and I hopeyou'll be back in the saddle again soon.I bet you'll be a bitscared about shooting a bow again. I know I would if I were you, but the best thing would be to shoot as soon as possiable after healing. This is a good reminder to each and every archer to always check/flex arrows before and after each shooting session for damage. I know I don't check mine very often, not a good habit to be in. With the number of archers in theworld its a mircale that this doesn't happen more often. Sorry for your bad luck and I do pray you get better soon. Jason.

Although rare, I'm seen it happen with aluminum as well.

Check your arrows, check your arrows, check your arrows. Redundant but necessary.

I hope and pray that your recovery is fast and complete. I feel for your pain. Keep us posted.
