Adder points question....

I've bowhunted turkeys in the past, but have never used Adder Points. I heard a lot about them and how they help deliver an extra shock to the turkey as well as help keep the arrow in the bird.

After thinking I knew, the sales rep at Cabelas now has me confused. He claims that the adder points can be put on either way. So I thought I would post a couple pics and see what everone thinks....

What is the correct way to position adder points? :

1)

or

2)

Thanks

The bottom one looks good. But i have another suggestion for you. go to the muzzy website and type in grasshopper and look at those for turkeys. I am going to be using them this season. goodluck

The bottom photo is the correct way. I take a small file and sharpen up the fins to turn 'em into cutting blades. It makes for a bunch of bleeder blades and helps get the head through those thick feathers, but still keeps penetration down. At least, with a 55 lb recurve or longbow.

I don't know what it'd do to a turkey with a high power compound. Come to think of it, the guy at Cabelas might be onto something by turning the thing bassackwards.
