I bought a fully loaded Fred Bear Instinct for $440and absolutely love it. I am so happy with my decision. I recommend shooting the Instinct and Fred Bear's Element, because they are arguably the best bows on the market in that price-range.

The Diamond brand of bows are a Bowtech with different cams. I'd recommend shooting a bunch of bows before making a decision. There are a bunch of really good bows out there now. I shot Bear for 20 yrs before switching to Bowtech.

Two of the "best buys" in archery. Lots of bang for your buck so to speak.

You really can't go wrong with anything on the market these days. Just make sure you shoot it first so you know what you are getting into.

On a budget and looking for a package deal, I'd check into the Diamond Edge, Bowtech Tomkat, and Martin Jaguar. There are quite a few other models available in package deals, however, these three are the best of the budget packages that I've dealt with.

Make sure wherever you go to purchase your bow allows you to shoot them first.
