I'd get a bow that's adjustable btw 50and 60.I personally shoot at 59 lbs and could go heavier, but don't see a reason. Your trying to put an arrow into a specific spot. This is a game of finess.I believe the majority of the guys that pull #90-100 have other reasons than hunting for the weight. If you wanna pull 75+ pounds...go to the gym<img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I shoot my Mathews at 62# ,as all of my bows have been.My son , however , is 10years old and killed his 1st and 2nd deer this year with his Browning Micro-eclipse set at a whopping 37#.Both shots were complete pass-throughs at 17 and 12 yards and both were quartering away shots.I give alot of the credit to good broadheads.

Let's burn some powder!

78lbs on my Mcpherson Terminator @ 65% let-off & 85 lbs on my Jennings Speedmaster @ 80% let-off. Don't let the 85lbs. sound like its too much. With the let-off it is like pulling back 60#. I had the bow down on 70lbs. but it seems to shoot & hold a tighter group @ 85lbs. So that is why I shoot it @ 85#. But like the others have said start @ what you are comfortable with

70# but use what you can pull back easily. I wouldn't recomend anything less than 50# for deer.

A lady here... When I bought mine it was set at 57#, but when I had my brother inspect it he found that the string was installed upside-down! (This was a brand-new bow from a sporting goods store) We think that whoever installed it must have not realized that it was left-handed. So my brother fixed it for me. The pull feels the same but it still might be different. If I get the chance I will have it checked. Boy did my arrows group nice after switching that string!

I believe in PA you must use at least a 35# weight.

I have mine set at 70 lbs. Like the other said start off at a poundage you are comfortable to shoot and work up if you need/want to.

I have mine set at 70lbs and get my pse arrows at 400 grains going at 300fps. Should be good enough for deer. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
