would a change in weather trigger it? we went from being in the 50's to being in the 70's and 80's for 2 weeks. What exactly triggers them to start growing?

Here is one I had in my Rye plot last week. You can see his starting to come in, this is in Northern Michigan!

Cougar, I think the trigger is the amount of nutrients that the deer get along with nicer weather. I could be wrong, but it sounds good doesn't it?[8D]

Even the buttons come off! This guy I would guess was a button last year or possibly a spiker! He had a buddy with him who smaller and had small spots where I would say where buttons were shed. This guy is actually growing in new antlers!
The bucks will start growing new racks a few weeks after they shed their old ones. The early growth comes on very slow, then picks up big time!

yeah im pretty sure the guy i posted is a year and a halfer spiker i have from last year or a little nubber.
