Sharing the good news.

I got my new job.

I applied last week, interviewed today, and just got off the phone with the store.

I'll be working full time in the Sportsman's Warehouse archery department starting tomorrow. Its not a pro shop, but its a step in the right direction. Its definitely a step up from landscaping. :D

Just thought I'd share the news with y'all. I'm happy.

Congratulations! I am sure that it will be both fun and a learning experience. How could talking archery and/or bow hunting all day NOT be fun?

Wow, very cool.:)

I was in that store last week. Fondled a couple of the new Bowtechs and ended up buying a package of Muzzy replacement blades. Maybe I'll run into you next time I visit the place.

So I guess your application as a Chip and Dale dancer didn't pan out? LOL An old Army Captain told me years ago when I was a butter bar Lt. "Lt., you'll find in the Military the best job you ever had was the one you just left. The worst is where you are now". A lot of that goes on in life outside the military. LOL Sounds like you'll be getting out of shape now.:D Good luck with the new occupation, sounds like my kind of job.

Congrats! Sounds like acool job. I used to work for a sporting goods store and loved many things about it, "except" for the fact that it took my away from my hunting. I seemed to have to work most of the weekends, and extra hours during the busy time... which ended up being during hunting season.

Thanks everyone!

Man, I have to tell you... I have a whole new respect for people who do this job. Its not as much fun and games as it sounds, it really is some work. Granted, I'm doing something I absolutely love to do, but I was beat after my shift.

I learned quite a bit today, actually. I can now replace strings and cables.

Buellhunter 04-05-2007 04:30 AM

RE: Sharing the good news.

:D
Yep, if it wasn't work you wouldn't get paid to do it.

Hang in there, it will get easier.

Washington Hunter 04-05-2007 08:39 AM

RE: Sharing the good news.

The paperwork is what gets confusing. Different forms for different orders. Different forms for the same orders... Geez. :D

Shooting the bows is nice though. Played around with the CR337 yesterday. Spott Hogg sight, WB rest, no peep... All three arrows touching. That Cardiac will be a sweet machine.
