Muzzy vs expandable broadheads
I've been using Muzzys for years.I just bought my Allegiance and noticed that the Muzzy's shoot low and to the left compared to the field tips.I guess I could say that the path is consistant. Would you tune the Muzzy's or go expandable? If expadable, what would any of you recommend in a 125 gr?

I definitely wouldn't go to the mechanicals yet. First of all you need to tune your rest so that your broadheads, field points... and everything else hit the same place. Once you know that it's tuned most broadheads will be productive, but you don't want to use a mechanical head to cover up a tuning issue.
If your arrow isn't flying true to begin with, putting a mechanical head on it may be the worst combination possible. Download the "tuning guide" and follow the directions. You'll be pleased. http://www.eastonarchery.com/downloads.asp |

Dave, Have your tried the muzzy MX-4 4 bladers? They are the best shooting fixed broadhead i've put through my Allegiance.

I have the tuning guide. Just haven't gone thru it step by step.
I had to adjust my restup a little (1/32" or so)and move it in (1/16")for paper tuning a field tip.Since the broadheads where hitting consistantly low and leftaccording to the guide this should fix the broadhead accuracy issue. I definitely prefer solid over a mechanical and do not like covering up issues by switching something on my set-up. Thanks for all of the responses. |
RE: Muzzy vs expandable broadheads
I WOULD NEVER TRADE MY MUZZY'S. I HAVE THE FOUR BLADE MX-4 AND I LOVE THEM!!! FLY GREAT WITH MY HOYT!!!!

RE: Muzzy vs expandable broadheads
ONLY GO MECANICAL IF YOU WANT A BIGGER CUTING DIAMITER OR JUST TUNE YOUR BOW

RE: Muzzy vs expandable broadheads
Try paper tuning with your broadheads you are only practicing with field points, so if you papertune your broadheads you know when you let one fly that It's going to hit the mark. It's the only paper tuning I do anymore.I tried to add some pics of my paper after shooting but I'm not able to I'll try and add them later.p.s I shoot muzzy 100 gr. three blades for life!!!
