Vanes or Blazers?
What do you shoot and why?
What do you gain by shooting one over the other? For hunting how much of a difference does it make? |
RE: Vanes or Blazers?
I just started shooting blazers. I used to shoot vanes. Blazers just add a few fps and they fly just as good so i figure...why not?

RE: Vanes or Blazers?
Personally my blazers reduce the weight of my arrows making them faster and they help to steer my broadheads

RE: Vanes or Blazers?
Blazers are one of the best archery accessories to come out recently.
I'll always use them.(till something better comes out) |
RE: Vanes or Blazers?
I have shot pretty much everything except the quick spins. I have some arrows fletched up with blazers right now. They work really well but I will be going back to feathers. They are just more forgiving in my opinion. I do feel as far as vanes go blazers are the better product at the moment.
I still shoot aluminum arrows as well, so maybe my opinion doesn't mean much. Not that I haven't tried carbons, I have shot several, but just think for the money aluminums are better. I feel the same about feathers I guess. Paul |
RE: Vanes or Blazers?
Blazers cause they are super durable, light weight and work awesome! they look better (IMO) too!

RE: Vanes or Blazers?
Blazers add speed, which added flatter shooting for my set up

RE: Vanes or Blazers?
I shot the blazer 2inch speed hunters last year, I switched to blazers this year and seem to do just as well. They reduce arrow weight at the rear helping FOC so why not shoot them.

RE: Vanes or Blazers?
Typo, I meant I shot the quick spin speed hunters last year.

RE: Vanes or Blazers?
If you shoot a whisker buiscuit or if you hunt with a fixed blade broadhead, then Blazers are a no brainer.
If you shoot 3D, you need 4" to stay in hunter class, if you want to shoot open (IBO of course) then it doesn't matter. Feathers are great as well, but if they get wet, you are sunk. I shoot blazers for hunting for the following reasons: 1) They are tough 2) They steer broadheads well 3) They shoot well off my bow 4) It reduces weight at the back of my arrow (always good) 5) They are simple to fletch |
RE: Vanes or Blazers?
Since the poll only gives me one choice I didn't vote. I use blazers with my Diamond and feathers with my Darton recurve. The reasons are for optimum performance with the bow I'm using at the time.

RE: Vanes or Blazers?
I hate nit pickin, but i will anyway :)Blazers are vanes, just a different style. I shoot them because they are tough as nails, they dont rip at all and retain their shape nicely. They also are stiff, less flutter, therefore less noise. They are lighter than most vanes, so that increases speed a little. They work! They stabilize broadheads great. Blazers are a great product.
