Finally got my first climber/good news

Finally got my first climbing tree stand. I took the advice of some of the guys on here and got a Summit Viper SS. That thing is so light. I put it on a tree yesterday and climbed up and tested the stability of the platform. I was able to stand on either side and lean around the tree as if I were going to shoot behind the tree, and the thing was entirely stable. Thanks to all of you Summit users for the input.
One other thing. I recently got a call from my brother. I had hunted with him this past year on a 700 acre tract of private land thata handful ofguysget to hunt on just for performing maintenance. I met the care taker during gun season. One of the guys dropped out and he remembered me. My brother called to ask if I was interested. Are you kidding? Count me in! I now have a solid place to hunt anytime I want. That was really good news for me.

New stand, new spot, you're ready to rock for next season! Congrats, and be safe with the stand so you can enjoy that spot for a long time.

Cool. I bought a summit bullet backpacker climber but have yet to actually try it out. I have heard a lot of good things about summit climbers so good to hear some more.

I bought a different brand, last year......thinking it was "better". I hunted out of it exactly twice.....and sold it.

I have a Viper that I hunt out of almost exclusively. I bought a Bullet backpacker, last year.....and hunted out of it a couple of times (when my son was using the viper).

These stands are the best I've seen.......and they're safe. The rail, which I "thought" was a hinderance to bowhunting.....makes up for that shortcoming by allowing me to NAP without fear of falling ;).

Congrats on acquiring the new land.

LC, last season was my first using a climber. It opened a whole new world! I have ladder stands set up, but being able to be mobile and set up anywhere is just awesome.
With 700 acres, you're gonna love it.
Sneak in there, pick out a bunch of possible trees to set up on. I even climb up and put hooks up, trim lanes, etc, before the season. When it's game time, you're ready!
Also lugging that thing around with all my other stuff, told me I need to get back in shape!!

Well, congrats. I personally think you havea great stand, no, make that the best stand out there. I know more guys who have Summit Vipers than the rest put together, and not one complaint. I have the Viper XL, which has the strap that goes across your feet. I tried my brothers Viper SS with the stirrups, and didn't care for them much. Just a personal preference though. He tried mine with the strap and didn't like it. I like the security of the bottom piece being strapped tight to my feet while he likes just slipping his feet under the stirrups and going. My biggest beef with the stirrups I guess are that they are plastic. Had they been aluminum or tubular steel, I might have liked them better. But if I ever had the need for another climber, I would definitely go with the Summit, even if it had the stirrups. They should hire me as a rep as I have personally gotten most of my buddies to switch to the Summit. Of course, all I had to really do was let them use mine once, and they were hooked. The hardest part about using it is staying awake once you're up the tree.....which is why I stand a lot.

Just please make sure the rope that is attached between the two is always on them, bad things happen when they are not, Im talking from experience from last season. And yes! they are awesome stands and congrats on getting yours.
