Bob Seger and my hunting teachers
 

When i was learning how to hunt i hung out alot with the guys that were teaching me. We would meet at my neibors house after a day in the treestand, and talk about the days hunt. I would drink my pop and they drank their choice beverages. We talk about the next days hunt, ate warm comforting cornbread and listened to Bob Seger. Since then many of the guys that i learned so much from have stopped hunting mostly after their old man died. But everytime i hear a Bob Seger song it takes me back to those good times at my hunting buddies house. Anyone else have a song or artist that does this type of thing for you?

That's a good little story there. For me it would probably Metallica. One of the local radio stations has what we call "mandatory Metallica", every morning at least twice an hour they'll kick out some of the best of Metallica. My father and I always listened to Metallica on the way to the area we were hunting. There is alot of other artists and songs too, most classic rock and blues makes me think about those early mornings.

Yeah music connects me with many hunting stories. The last song that played in the truckbefore i shot my first deer with a bow was Fred Bear, kinda ironic! Funny how i have no musical talent though.:DUnless you count the sound of a popping catchers mitt and the woosh of a bat music!:D

There are numerous songs that "take me back". I don't know them until I hear them. Most of the songs are country songs from my youth.....1980's.

At our camp, my dad would always play the radio as we were getting ready to go out each morning. When I hear them now I always call them my "camp songs."

OMG!!!! Bob Seger is my all time favorite. I even got the last CD, Face The Promise,for last fall's hunting. Beautiful Loser---my favorite of all!!!!
