They are tought to find. A lot depends on where you have access to look. Some properties deer don't normally spend their winters on. If they aren't there during the winter, there will be no sheds to find. I never find many where I hunt, usually 1 or 2 a season. I've found two so far this year, both were last years sheds though.

Recently, I had an amazing opportunity. I was walking out into the orchards around my house, and inadvertantly scared a group of deer from a little pond, and then actually saw the deer shed his antlers. It was one of the most amazing things ever, and apparently, a once in a lifetime kind of experience. It's so weird though, because like a couple people on here, I search in vain for those things, but then I just scare a deer off, and there they are.

I have looked for sheds for over 5 years and I have never found one. I look all over the farm and me and the guys that hunt the farm have never found one. So I guess some places are better than others.

hoofed an oat field this afternoon and picked up one that the skidooers managed to leave me. Found one yesterday back in some spruce where we log, fields are open but picked clean. There are a bunch in the bush i imagine just too much snow yet to get to them. Found quite a few at Christmas time b4 the big snow hit and the sleds came out but slim pickins right now.

You need to step it up a bit so we can teach theyoung punksome respect!! As of tonight, Tyler is kicking both of us by a few. He knows no mercy. I've been sneaking out during Dinner breaksfrom work just to keep up to him. He says that is cheating. I keep telling him life isn't fair!! He is at 64 sheds and I've found 58. Cheating isn't even working for me. [] It's up to you now!!

No idea how many hours/miles we have spent at it so far this year but the feet say it has been quite a few. [&:]

My teaching bud, here is hardcore too. He stopped by yesterday to show me some of his 62 sheds for the season. He found 107 last year....he puts in mountains of time.. hes single...He and I email daily keeping tabs on each other... He and I decided yesterday its time to start the "shed hunteraholics society" and we think we need to have a get-together this summer...everyone bring their sheds to the barbeque...

I have two good months of shed hunting left with spring break starting tomorrow!!!..we'll see what happens. I wont lie though I never stop looking through summer, crap I look for sheds while driving down the interstate..wife hates it!!! swervin all over the place..I've actually found3 sheds off the highway. When you guys come out do some elk hunting your gonna have to bring a big ole box full of your favorites..!

I am at 16 sheds, and 3 dead bucks yet this year. Including the 10 pointer I killed and lost in December 2005!

I should be out finding more.. but I am ill at the moment.

Sorry to hear you're under the weather Duke. I'm up to 4 this year the only year I've actually looked!
