I like to keep mine around 360-365 as long as my speed is around 300fps. If you go much heavier than your loosing the flat shooting advantage of light arrows and much lighter and your starting to loose kenetic energy.

My CE Maxima arrows at 28" with 100gr Rage are 368gr.

29" arrows at 9 gpi plus 100 grain mechanicals is roughly 360. Do you count mechanicals as "broadheads"?

My arrows are down to around 382 since I switched from 125 grains to 100 grain heads. I feel that is a good weight for hunting, but I'm not giving up too much on the 3d range.

Why wouldn't you? Rage broadheads.

On advice from someone I trust inherently.......My hunting arrow comes in at 460gr+. I shoot an Allegiance .......so I don't worry about the "flat trajectory" aspect.

Mine are 572 for hunting. Part of the reason is because I'm pretty limited in arrows at a 32" draw, and I also like that heavy weight. AT 42 yards this year, I shot my buck, broke a rib on entry and exit, and the arrow was stuck in the ground on the other side. I was shooting my Old GLory at the time, at about 260 fps and Slick Trick broadheads. That extra weight never hurts when hitting an animal.

I like mine to be right around the 500 grian mark. I still get plenty of speed at around 270+fps and lots of KE and momentum to drive the arrow through any bone it may hit on the way.
