Shortest length of time to harvest buck.
 

I finding a hard time trying to find something to talk about, with deer seasonnot in now. I was just wonderingwhat is your shortest amount of time being on a stand when you got anice buck.

I got on a stand one morning an wasin the tree for about 30 minutes after daylight an got a 8 point with a 16 inch spread. That ismy fastest successfulhunt.

I've had doe's come in at the same time I'm pulling up my bow into the treestand. So to answer your question,I didn't wait any, as it was"instantly go time" once I set foot in the stand.

well since i didnt get a buck last year which was my first year of hunting, i guess i am still on the clock

I got my fastest archery buck within 45 minutes of the early PA archery season opening.

I shota 5ptwhile I was walking to my stand in the morning.Another time,I got into my stand at 12:15pm and shot a 6pt at 12:30.

sent an arrow thru a decent 8 point right at daylight. had it back at camp and hung before my buds got back, i was sitting in a lawn chair drinking a beverage:Dwhen they pulled up.

I videoed my buddy Shawn (SMLuchtel) this year. He was pulling up his bow and i was gettin teh camera out of the pack when this nice 130" deer came walking in...

45 minutes into opening morning is my fastest/shortest season for a buck.

Quickest I shot a doe was 10 minutes from reaching the spot where I planned to hunt from.

First day I ever hunted w/ a bowI was 15 yrs old took all of 20 minutes 6 point buck granted he was no monster but i thought they would all come that easy WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't a buck but a doe was standing 20 feet from my stand i was going to in the afternoon nocked an arrow stepped over 5 feet to get a clear shot and double lunged her . She ran 30 yards stopped looked back then dropped . took only a minute or two

about six years back, you could only take one deer in MN.Opening morning,30 minutes in harvested a 9 pt. about 120'. following year, openingmorning of season, 45 minutes in harvested another 9 pt. about 130 in. My two fastest archery seasons.

i have never taken a deer with a bow.. so with a bow i couldnt say.. with a gun.. about 10 minutes.. and ACTUALLY i have never killed a deer at a stand after about the 30 minute mark.. have taken all of my deer within 30 minutes of being on spot.. most within 15 - 20 minutes.. tho i have seen a FEW within an hour on spot

My FIRST archery buck was a big 6 pt. opening morning at 8:30.
I almost didn't take the shot because he was almost straight down,
but we just bought a new home and I had a ton of things to do.
I should have waited , a nicehigh 8 came in lessthan a minute after I shot. I was still gathering my nerves. I couldn't believe it.

This last year my brother was hunting in one of my stands hes 13 and my dad was hunting about 80 yrds away so he could keep an eye on him its only his second yr. But they over slept and went in at 9 am my brother shot a 4 pnt. buck 10 yrds from his stand in the spine droping it in its tracks and my dad had just climbed into his stand still had his bow on the ground and had yet to put his camo coat on. Fastest for me personally was about one hour.

It's always been at least an hour. The last few deer have been within five minutes of closing light.

My quickest was about 45 seconds... literally. I walked to where I was hunting on the ground and I set my pack down and pulled an arrow from my quiver when I heard "the crunch." Quickly there after my arrow zipped through the buck and it was game over. Pretty sweet if I do say so myself.

In 1978 or 79, I shot an 8pt no more than 10 minutes into opening day of bow season!

2 minutes...I had to pull up my bow as he was coming down the trail. Lucky for me I already had my release on (Dont ask me why, I never climb with it on, but that day I didnt take it off to climb. Fate, it seems, played a hand).
My father thought I was joking when I came back to the cabin less than ten minutes after going out.

mine was about an hour but my cuzin i was hunting with, took us 0 min. We saw a nice 8 on our trail so we got down and called him in:D

Only once have I had an encounter as short as yalls. Was on stand one cold morning before daylight and could see deer feeding out in front of me. Couldnt see horns yet, but was praying for daylight. As it got more and more daylight, his antlers grew and grew.

Looks great on my cabin wall!

My first morning in Illinois this year I killed a 130" 8 pt at 8:00 o'clock. I have had shorter hunts but that's the best short hunt that I have had.

I was able to harvest a deer two years ago on opening day approximately 20 minutes after the opening of the season.

..ofcourse I was in the tree for three hours before that. ;)

Well it wasnt a buck, but 2 seasons ago on openning morning, i had a doe feeding around my stand in the dark once i was set. I was probably in the stand for a solid half hour before i had enough light to see my pins, but the second i had that light an arrow was sent through her lungs.

On another occasion, i had a beautiful 8 point come running down the trail as i was walking to my stand. He came to within 15 yards of me during the rut and stood broadside to me looking at me for about 30 seconds while i fumbled to put my release on. Then he bounded off. That taught me a lesson, always have your release on while in the woods.

I was in my early 20's ...first time I used a grunt call in the woods. Sat down, grunted 3 times... minutes later heard movement. Buck walked into 6 yards ears pinned back. Little 3x3 whitey.. thwack..from my old clearwater mag.. It was really cool..
