RE: Why do the two carbon clothing manufacturers...
I've said it before you can never totally re-activate the carbon but you can drive off enough odor molecules making the suit effective. I agree you can't just "forget the wind", but you non-believers still shower and use other scent control methods. Why? If you hunt the wind you don't need to!

What about No Trace?
It doesn't use carbon. Does it work? |

This is the amount of carbon in the fabric of a carbon suit..................Decide for yourself how effective a filter this could be.

Chuck's just saying it's PART of a regimen. That's ALL I've ever bought into.

RE: Why do the two carbon clothing manufacturers...
It's effective enough. I killed five whitetails wearing it, last season alone. So if someone comes out and say's I killed six last year with out the suit does that make it less meaningful that you killed five? I've yagged out during bow several times with out any type of suit and with the liner. I kept a diary for a few years and my sightings didn't improve with suit. That's just my personal experience. I got to the point in early season that I'd rather hunt with out it. |

My grandpa killed hundreds of deer wearing a red wool coat and grey wool pants with suspenders. While smoking Pal Mals, guess I should get me some of them also huh.:D

Atlas and Hardcore,
as you can tell by reading the post ,there are just as many guys using Scent-Lok as there are not using it. One fact stands out. The guys whoDO NOTuse it and claim it doesn't work have never tried it. They did not descide for themselves. The guys whoDOuseit, have personal expierence to it's effectiveness, and continue to use it. That speaks volumes about carbon clothing. Forget the tests and what you have read, PRO or CON. Make your own assessment. You are both intelligent guys. It's like saying you don't like a Darton; and have never shot one. If I had asuit to send you, I would. In fact, what sizes are you? I am willing to send you one of my own suits to try for a season if I it will fit. My only request is that you be willing to post weekly your results in a running post. What do u think??? |
RE: Why do the two carbon clothing manufacturers...
I just don't want to argue with you, Charlie. I did what I did wearing these garments. To say they "don't work" would be fooling oneself. That's all I've ever said.
If someone were to come in here and say that all you had to do was shoot Beaman arrows......and your days of bad hits and complete misses were over......I'd yell "snake oil". If they killed 5 deer with them, though.....I'd AT LEAST have to acknowledge that they're doing SOMETHING right. If someone came in here and claimed they kept their scent blocker clothes in the dog house .......and didn't practice scent control measures......and professed they ROUTINELY got downwind of whietail deer BECAUSE (solely) their SB suit was magic........I'd be EXTREMELY skeptical. If that same person told me they used it like I do......and claimed success while wearing it......I'd believe them. Do they help me take more deer? I don't know that they do or don't. It's pretty good camo, though.....and it's "working" for me. That's all I care about. |
