Bowhunting Contest DVD is ready!!!
 

Mods - I was hoping I could keep this post in the main bowhunting page since it will be more visible here than in the contest page, assuming most people likely have stopped going there.

The 2006 HNI Bowhunting Contest DVD is complete and I'm ready to start burning copies. This year's video is 13 minutes long and features 4 songs from guitar genius Gary Hoey. There were some fantastic photo entries this year!

This year I am asking for a $10 donation to cover the cost of materials and shipping. (the shipping alone last year was over $300) Donation is NOT required.

Hey Mike nice bass were did you catch it? You outta hook up with my brother,he lives in urbana and is a fishin fool. Id like to see one of your vids and I know it would be easier to get it to my bro or dad there in urbana. His login is solocamcan so look for him although I know he wont be back intil next week online anyhow. PM him or me to get more info on where we can get the vid and possibly hook up for some bassin and huntin action this year.

I wish you would do one for the gun contest there were some nice deer taken in that catagory too. I got my best in over 40 years of hunting them with a muzzle loader.

I just received the DVD in the mail today and finished watching it just now.

All I have to say is that you really out-did yourself this year. The video was fantastic!

Hazcon, i just watched ur video and all i could say is WOW! you did such a great job on that this year! what editing program do you used and could you pm some song titles i could use for my video production company for school...i need music like u used in your video!! thanks

Thank you for the kind words Hoytteen.
I use a Mac G4 with iMovie and iDVD mainly.
I edit photos using adobe photoshop elements.
And I have a few aftermarket effects that work with iMovie.
Its kind of hard to make the movie exciting with still photos and no video though - just have to use your imagination.
Those songs are by Gary Hoey who was a guitar prodigy at like age 15. Those were some of his first professional recordings. (I'm not sure what he is doing today.)

Just a thought. You might want to push these when signup comes around for this season. I don't see many of the guys on here these days, but they will probably be back come huntin time. Looking at the posts now it is amazing to think we had over 400 guys involved with the contest.

I got my copy yesterday and really enjoyed it. You DO Good Work. Thanks for putting in all of the effort for the little pay involved.
