Pull up Rope?
What do you use to effectively and quietly haul up your bow and/or pack to your stand?

RE: Pull up Rope?
I use the strapper. It has worked real well for me for several years now.
Here is the link to it. http://cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0004810410480a&type=product&cm Cat=search&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=strapper&N=4887& ;Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1& Ntt=strapper&noImage=0 |
RE: Pull up Rope?
i use a retractable dog leash thing, works awesome and very quiet.

RE: Pull up Rope?
I use 3/8 boat rope cut at 22ft. When Im at the end of my rope when tied to my stand I know I'm at my hunting height. The nylon boat rope is easy to tie and un-tie

RE: Pull up Rope?
I just buy those little camo ropes with the plastic clasps on the ends. Do you have Academy's there? Most places sell them. Maybe even Walmart. RE: Pull up Rope?
I use curtain cord. Don't ask me why, but I have a roll of 500 ft. I hate it because it blows in the wind and eventually gets wrapped around some stupid limb and then I am screwed. It happens every year....you would think I would learn...but I don't. What else am I going tous 500 ft. of curtain cord for?
|
RE: Pull up Rope?
I found the ultimate pull up rope. Tangle free decoy cord.
|
RE: Pull up Rope?
I get the stuff in the camping section at Wally World. It's like 50 feet of rope and I get a couple of carribeaner clips. Easy peesy, just wind it back up and voila.
|
RE: Pull up Rope?
The same rope that I use to pull up my tree stand when I put them up in Sept. is the rope I use to pull my backpack / fannypack and bow.
It's just a regular clothes line type of rope that I dyed brown and it's about thirty feet long , good enough to get the job done. |
RE: Pull up Rope?
I use those small diameter camo ropes as well!!
|
RE: Pull up Rope?
I use a thin heavy duty nylon rope. I have it cut to 35' length and I use about 36" to tie off my bow and tie the band ends on my stand. I tie my band ends off on my loogy because to keep thm quiet. You know you up there when your next move begins to lift you bow off the ground.;)

RE: Pull up Rope?
I use the wally world camo rope too. Get it in the camping section.
|
RE: Pull up Rope?
I use everything to camo rope to the bow hoist ropes to curtain cord.
I have a lot of stands:D My least favorite are the thin camo ropes with the cheesy metal clips. They clip on ok but are a pain to unclip. The thin rope make it hard to pull my bow and pack(I pack too much stuff) up and then when you go to let it down the rope wants to burn thru your gloves! I like the curtail cord because it has a rougher texture and is easier to haul the load up and down The camo nylon rope works best |
RE: Pull up Rope?
I just use a thin paracord. Its very weather resistant and strong.

RE: Pull up Rope?
Best 24.99 I have ever spent!!! Bought mine season before last, it was 20' long then...perfect! when I felt tension from the bow weight it was time to tie in and hunt...lets out automatically as you climb and retracts automatically as you pull your bow up to the stand====no tangles!!!

RE: Pull up Rope?
Heck I just use a black cord that goes about 20-25 feet in length. It''s got clips on each end of it. Don't remember where I came up with it at but it's worked for me. Whenever I want to wind it up, I just find a twig on the ground, snap it off to the correct size, and wind my cord around it. Then I just throw it in my pack/pocket for later.
The walmart camo rope would do the trick too. |
RE: Pull up Rope?
i use a 3/8 nylon rope about 30 feet long . I bring a back up walmart camo rope just in case something was to happen to the rope or it gets accidentally forgotten |
RE: Pull up Rope?
Here's one a lil different! I use a simple 20ft. clothesline style cord that i wrap electrical tape around to make it a lil stiffer! Works great and the tape keeps it from knotting and twisting al up!

RE: Pull up Rope?
parachute cord. I tie a loop in low end, when I get to the bottom of the stand I I feed it thru a cam and over my stabilizer, no need for clips or knots.

RE: Pull up Rope?
I use the green parachute cord. It never tangles and it is a nice color so I just leave it hanging. I had a deer run right next to it and almost start pulling it with it once.

RE: Pull up Rope?
I found the ultimate pull up rope. Tangle free decoy cord. I use the decoy cord that Johnnydialtone mentioned.....I wouldn't be without this stuff. Extremely tough and doesn't tangle easily. I use it for hunting, camping, fishing, boating. Check out http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0020888225926a&type=product&cm Cat=search&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=cord&N=4887&Ntk =Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt= cord&noImage=0 Hoisting my bow, I have a clip tied on one end and clip it to the bow release loop and it pulls up easily. |
RE: Pull up Rope?
Parachute cord. Strong as heck, and lasts forever. Easy to tie and un-tie as well.
|
RE: Pull up Rope?
Got a couplecords with a clips on each end like previously mentioned from Wally world for about 3 bucks each (plus 100' of cord in the backpack for good measure) .

RE: Pull up Rope?

|
RE: Pull up Rope?
I use parachute cordI pick up at a local climbing store.
No sense using cheap rope when I'm pulling up $1,200+ worth of gear. |
RE: Pull up Rope?
a small diameter rope
|
RE: Pull up Rope?
i use parachute chord but put a S hook on the end. I dip the hook in the rubber coating which makes it quiet. I put he hook in my pocket and pull up my stand with it. once I am in my lock on or climber I fish my bow that I leaned up against a tree or something up with the hook. works very well. I used to use all those other things but the S hook is the way to go IMO. saves me a trip down to pick my bow up or using 2 ropes when hanging stands.
