RE: Have your standards changed?

I don't know if standards is the right word. But I do change what I plan to shoot whenever the herd population dictates a change.
ie: alot of does around I will shoot most any doe that comes by\ a lot of smaller bucks I may try to weed them out so the big boys can breed the does. you get the point.

I'll take the does . farmers in the area want the doe population down as they loose a lot of money in crop damage . I let the small 6 pts and under walk . I have often booted myself in the butt for not shooting one ate many buck tags . i used to shoot them but decided to let them grow up or let someone else shoot them > I have shot a couple of small racked 8 pointers in the past few years but nothing big . Sooooo , i'll take the does and leave the small bucks . Not a problem .........

Nowadays it's 3 1/2 year old buck or better. And doe, "preferrably" not a fawn.

After my first season, I set standards that I am going to be truthful to for the rest of my life! No doe with a fawn gets shot and no buck under a 3x3 will get shot.

Mine haven't changed since I began hunting, if it looks worth the drag it's going down.
