Pretty good day yesterday.

Yesterday turned out to be a pretty decent day so my dad and I spent the better part of it scouting for new land. We obtained permits to hunt some paper company land that borders the private property we already have permission to hunt. I'm not sure how many acres this actually adds to what we already hunt, but according to their map its a pretty big chunk.

After I got home the friend I've been working with getting into archery was here waiting. We went over to his house and I worked with him for a couple hours getting his 20 and 30 yard pins set. After a while we had him hitting a softball size group at 30 yards consistanly. Not too bad for someone who just started shooting.

We also figured out we can get a good 25 yard shot from his roof, so we spent a bit of time up there shooting too. :D

We drove by a half dozen groups like this, not a single horn on any head;

Awesome score on the new land, but wheres your safety harness[8D]. Is that bow your friend's shooting your old one?

Yeah, thats my old Jaguar.

Greg (txjourneyman) sent up an older Hoyt for him to start using, but the draw length turned out to be about an inch and a half too long and we couldn't get it to group for him for the life of us. I decided to just let him borrow that one until he can get himself a new one.

That is an awesome view in the background. Its also awesome to get your friend involved in hunting.

That mountain in the background is where we hunt 90% of the time. If that little pine tree to the right of the group of pine tress weren't there, you would be able to see the farmer's field.

That older Hoyt is a "race bow" compared to my 1984 Pro Vantage Hunter :)
