A bow shop question
 

What do you guys think of about having a small bar located within a hunting shop/store? I know the majority of the local clubs and league hangouts all have someone bring the booze anyway when they get together, so why not just put a small bar in the place? Just a thought, what do you guys think?

I'm wondering what an insurance carrier would think about supplying a policy to an establishment that sold alcohol AND firearms/weapons??

Let's think about that one ;)

Valid point - But, I've already seen it done. Like I said the local Rod and Gun Club has a bar in the building. And they sell bows, guns, ammo, etc. to members. Maybe becuase its a club and not a business it works out differently? Can anyone else shed some light on this?

I'm not an insurance man, burbaust.....it just throws up a red flag. I'd think a private gun club could possibly get around this somehow......but I'm still betting the policy ain't cheap.

Anyone know of one of these in a public sopt? In NC.....you can't carry a concelaed weapon INSIDE MANY public places....andI'm not sure what the laws are regarding carrying in an establishment that serves alcohol.

I would imagine everyone would have to have the weapons secured before entering the area that sold alcohol, though.

I agree with that. Premiums are probably outrageous, hence why memberships are probably sooooo god awfully expensive too. But if we're talking about a shop - most people probably aren't concealing their rifle or bow;). Maybe a shop could have some kind of policy, like no alcohol before entering a range? I dunno, I'm not an insurance guy either. Let's say I got the insurance stuff down and it isn't a problem - not what? Good idea, bad idea, risky...etc etc etc.?

P.S.-Have no intention on ever trying to open a shop like this one, its just something I had thought about one day in class.

I can tell you as a christian and father I would not want to shoot in a shop with people drinking because no matter how hard that you try to keep it from happening, eventually some yahoo is going to drink more than thier share and then you have trouble. Now before I get flamed I'm not against a guy having a beer but I for one just don't think that it's a good idea.

I completly understand and agree with you on that really. I hadn't thought of that part, I'll admit. Any other thoughts or comments on this? What about just selling alcohol at the shop? Think about the Ultimate Hunting Shop in your eyes, what would it have in it?

My ultimate pro shop would have 3-4 brands of bows and a wide selection of accessories and arrows so that if you want something they don't have to order it. It would also have a indoore and outdoore range. Besides that 2 soda machines and a couple of snack machine and really good customer service and you should have it. To me if you want to sell alchol open a place to sell it but not in a archery shop. JMHO

itsa nice family sport adding alcohol would inmo
take the fun out of it for younger archers having mother or father
thinking about next drink insted of helping them with thare next arrow.

ok, I can see your guys' points. I guess where I come from, the end of a deer hunt always ends at a bar or shop to show off the kill, just talk hunting, or whatever else you want to do.
