strutting allready??
Was driving thru my hunting area today and seen no
less that 40 turkeys in a field, three toms were in full strut and prancing around like they owned the place. Seems kind of early dont you think. I have never seen them strut this early but the weather turned warm the last couple days. anyone else seen em strutting yet? ps: there are 4 big toms 10 feet from the corner of my yard right now:) I think they seen me shooting today and came to see what they were up against when bow season comes around.[8D] |

RE: strutting allready??
Actually I have observed strutting and gobbling into the winter months. Turkeys might not always fight though when it is that late or this early in the year. They will still show their dominance though, by strutting, they just dont have the testosterone running threw their veins at this time of the year. Isure in some places you will see it more than in others depending on how many dominant males are in the area.

I saw a few strutting last week. Pretty early, but it was enough to get me excited

RE: strutting allready??
I saw two birds strutting a week and a half ago. Right when the snow started melting.
