Bear Meat

Who's eaten it?

I got to thinking about the bear hunt threads, yesterday.....and was thinking I might like to bear hunt, once. Thing is, though...."I" won't do it if I'm not going to eat it.

So.....

Who's eaten it?:)

Its D' lish. Just like any while game if not cooked properly it can get dry. We make some pretty good jerky out of it.

What is considered the best cut from a bear? I have the same feelings I don't go hunting for a trophy rug, I like to eat what I kill.

Well you obviously aren't hardcore and a total waster giving hunters a bad name. JK!! I'm not sure how hungry I would have to be to eat a 'yote.

Like any game or non game for that matter if it is processesed and prepared correctly it is delish. It can depend on the bear, if you shoot a 650 lb old boar then you might have some natural jerky on your hands, but for the most part anything in the 3-400 lb range you will still have some tasty chewing, I have always found maranation and wrapping it in bacon on the BBQ the best way, a good marbled fat meat is great. Good luck with the Bruins

It's good eating, Just make sure who ever process it, Debones it. It cuts down on the smell when your cooking it, and gives it a better flavor!
