How do you practice
I have two different set up.
I have a chair and a 6 foot ladder to get me in the air. |
RE: How do you practice
All three.
I shoot from a stool (turkeys) I have a 12 ladder stand. I practice from the ground, standing. |
RE: How do you practice
sitting, stranding, kneeling and from a stand plus any other way I can think of at the time.
|
RE: How do you practice
I chose standing for the pole cause that is how i practice the majority of the time, but i do practice from my treestand as well as sitting, kneeling and any other variety or shots i can think of.
|
RE: How do you practice
sitting, from in a blind
standing off the deck |
RE: How do you practice
I don't hunt from a treestand so I don't pratice that. I try to mix up on stances that would be a most likely scenerio out in the field. I'll pratice standing, kneeling, sitting, snap shooting, etc etc
|
RE: How do you practice
All three plus kneeling.

RE: How do you practice
Sitting, standing, from an elevated platform, kneeling, leaning around obsticles, drawing almost paralell to the ground and then rising up...
I practice in as many different ways I can think of. |
RE: How do you practice
usually standing on my deck thats about a foot and a half off the groud. when hunting season gets closed i will start to shoot sitting or kneeling because sometimes i hunt out of a blind.
|
RE: How do you practice
I practice standing upin my treestand and standing on the ground as well
|
RE: How do you practice
When its not raining....from the roof:D I practice from a stand, on the ground. I like getting in my stand/roof and having someone on the ground (when I am not watching) relocating my deer at different angles and yardage. This way it gives memore practiceto judge distance/shot placement.

RE: How do you practice
Crutch,
The roof'sa good idea, and I'd do that if my roof weren't 12x12 pitch. I'd get one movingshot off before I slid off the bottom. I practice sitting and standing, both on the ground and from an old ladder stand. I like to practice in the wind also. Sure is hard to hold the bow steady sometimes, but it's good practice. |
RE: How do you practice
Chief......12/12 is not a roof.....it's a WALL!!....lol
|
RE: How do you practice
I like to play "HORSE" w/ my friends when we shoot... It really sparks some crazy shots... Including the common "one footed - draw and shoot",the "I'd never dream of taking a shot this far",and thescary "shoot through so much brush you'll probably never see the arrow again".
We once discussed shooting through your legs... but were afraid somethings could get caught in the string [:-] It may seem like just fun, but it definately builds your confidence when in the field.. |
RE: How do you practice
When I go to the 3D range , I stand and shoot except for when they have a target that you have to sit and shoot.
When I practice at home in my backyard , I shoot every way possiable sitting , standing , kneeling and even in a treestand I even got up on the roof of my garage. :D |
RE: How do you practice
Most of the time standing there. As the season nears I shoot from a stand in my yard(also stndaing up). Rarely do I practice from a sitting position. I don't like shooting that way. The only time I practiced it was for turkeys.
|
RE: How do you practice
all three but mainly about 12 ft. high but i do stand and sit sometimes.
|
RE: How do you practice
All the Above :)
|
RE: How do you practice
I do most of my practice from the ground, but when it gets close to season opener I shoot some from a tree.
|
RE: How do you practice
Im all three also, the super slam[8D]but i voted up in the air because that is my favorite
|
RE: How do you practice
You need an " all of the above" option.
|
RE: How do you practice
sitting, standing, kneeling and elevated. But standing/elevated 70% of the time I bet.
|
RE: How do you practice
I voted for standing because thats what I do most of the time but I do thow in the rest expecially leading up to the fall.
|
RE: How do you practice
Those that continue to do, what they have always done, will always get, what they always got. Practice does not make perfect, Perfect practice, makes perfect!
|
RE: How do you practice
Standing, kneeling, elevated, body contorted, mask on mask off, gloves, clothes..I try and play out all the possible scenerios.
|
RE: How do you practice
any way i can think of that might help
|
RE: How do you practice
I voted standing because I do that the most. I practice any way that I can.
I am about to set up an indoor range in my apt. Just grabbed my target from the cottage on the weekend and figure I can at least keep my muscles conditioned, even if the 12 yd shot isn't too challenging. |
