Need Help On My Feeder!

I'm building a Corn feeder and i got the spinner thing that throws the corn and the barrel(metal 50 gallon) and i was wondering how high to mount it on a tripod...i have access to a welder and metal so anything would be helpful. how high do you guys have yours???

Thanks

Do you have bears? If so, I would hang it from a limb away from the tree and with metal cable at a height where the tripod legs you can attach to the barrel are at least 8 feet or higher off the ground.

If not, I would think having the spin plate even 6 feet off the ground should allow for plenty of dispersal area.

I had my feeder on 12 foot legs.

If you have hogs in the area then use some T posts, drive them into the ground in the oposite direction of the legs and tie the legs to the T posts.

As you can see the hogs will dig around the legs and eventually the feeder will toppel over if you dont secure the legs with T posts.
