How long should i wait?

Today I moved my treestand and had to take the chainsaw out and cut a few trees, how long do you think it will take before the deer will be moving through there again?

Well, you should have left the trees. Major tree surgury is never good in my opinion. The deer like it a little thick. When you start whacking a bunch of trees you're just throwing down a bunch of stink and doubt in the mind of a smart old buck. Major tree surgury if it has to be done should be done in the summer or after the season. The damage is done.. you might as well hunt it instantly and hope they investigate the fresh cut wood smell. In timber country the deer often follow the saws to munch on previously unreachable browse. Me... I'm a hole shooter. I'll use a limb saw or long tree pruner if necessary but never in the season. Sometimes I simply bend or tie a pesty limb out of the way but I leave everything I can. I'll take a chance on finding a hole before I cut. There is NO correct answer to your question. Some will say wait a week, some will say immediately... I say don't cut. Take your pick and see what happens.

You also said, "today I moved MY treestand". If you only have one you should be moving it ALL the time. Hunt it a couple times and move. If you get into major tree trimming everytime you won't have any woods left. Multiple stands are worth the effort, even if it's a climber and you move to preselected trees. Have fun.

Listen to dave I would never cut down trees to clear an areatriming a couple of small branches is okay but not cutting them down. Sounds like you should have put it some where else and saved the trees.
