just keep looking...and looking some more. the bucks aren't rubbing this time of year, and rubs that aren't fresh are a little tougher to find because the exposed wood is dried and turned gray. In the fall when the rut is gettin close (if your in a place that has bucks) you should be able to find them easier. They stick out bc the exposed would will stick out better, IMO

shoot2thrill25 has got the point. You can still find them but they will be old and dried up most likely gray or brownish color. When you find a "good" rub you will be able to see it from a long way off.

Yesterday I was out scouting for next year and saw a pretty new rub on a sapling. The bark that was scraped off was still on the ground and seemed fresh.

Look around ridges, fields, down old roads an close to ponds in the woods an along creeks.
