funnels

I have an area I am going to hunt next fall that has what I would consider to be an awesome funnel. Afterthinking more and more about this funnel I am thinking it may be to narrow. I was wondering some opinions on what to narrow would be. The funnel I plan on hunting near connects a large wooded(250 acres)area to a smaller wooded area(20 acres). The smaller wooded area has a corn field/hay field on one side, a corn field on another side and a overgrown field on the other two sides. The funnel is about 40 feet long and 10 feet wide. Is this funnel to small?

not if that is where the deer are going through

This funnel sounds as if it is a large travel corridor as well if that is their only secluded access from the main woods to the fields....

Sounds like a sweet setup.

Post an aerial photo if you have one.

I agree that of the sign is there it is not to small. Put a trail cam here and see what you come up with you may find that the deer are using this earlier in the day than you may think because they could use the smaller wood lot as a staging area. Like Buckeye said post an areal photo if possible.

Man above knows what he's talking about!

Don't scare them away. Create a crash in the woods!

I have a funnel down at the camp that is about 20 feet wide with a steep hill on one side an a field bordered by a fence on the other. There is always tracks in there, there has been some deer taken in that funnel.

I wouldn't hunt in that funnell. I would hunt at the mouth of either end. Look like you have another great spot right in the middle of that patch on the right. That clearing in the center will be a great rutting spot. Thats gospel.
