To Be OR Not To Be
 

Do yall shoot with the quiver on your bow or off? I shot with it off my bow last year and like it. The weight of the quiver with the arrows is a reason why I shoot with it off. However, I take the risk of extra movement if somehow "the bow missed the deer".
What do yall think?

i shoot with the quiver off just b/c its easier to move around in the stand with less stuff on it.

but when i practice, i shoot with my quiver both and off. just incase i get an opportunity to shoot on the walk in or out.

but my bow shoots the same with or without the quiver on, and i have taken deer with the quiver on and with the quiver off.

My bow weighs +/- 4 lbs. My arrows weigh +/- 460g ea, + quiver. I typically have my bow in my hand for about 1 min or so before I shoot (If I had to average it out).

I can handle the extra "weight" for that long. This is a roundabout way of stating that in MY "opinion"......the extra weight is a non-issue.

I like having the arrows readily available in case I get the chance at a follow up shot (which I did on 2 occasions, last season).

I've also practiced with it on and off......and don't see a discernable difference in either approach.

lol...you mean if the arrow missed the deer...its not your fault..OR the bows fault:D

i personally practice both. i practice both to ensure come hunting time it wont make a diffrence. sometimes i hunt with it on..most of the time its off. i dont like hunting with it on. bulky, fletchings are somewhat bright and may catch his eye..never know. and i like to rest my bow across the bar on Viper stant..and it rests on the right side..where the quiver should go.

When I carried my old quiver with 6 arrows i took it off as soon as I hit the stand. Now with my 3 arrow sof-loc--it's always on!

PS I didn't take the 6 arrow off for weight concerns as much as the bulk of moving with it on and the possibility of snagging on something.

The 3 arrow is MUCH more compact they are in a triangle instead of side by side by side....

I have had both kind of quivers on my current bow. Last year i had a Bohning Lynx and this year i switched to the fuse katana quiver. Both are exellent quivers i just like having a second shot close at hand. I saved me this year when i missed an embarassing 15 yard shot at a doe she trotted off another 15 and when she stopped i was already at full draw and realeasing. Backstraps taste so good on the grill!;)

I was told long ago that the weight of a quiver would affect my accuracy. Because of this I havent shot with it on my bow since. I just hang in on the release arm side of the tree for quick access. Of the few occasions where i needed a second arrow, if the deer or turkey didnt run after the first shot they never saw me grab another one.

Mine is always on if for no other reason than that is just the way I have always done it. I don't like the idea of taking it off and on when I am spot and stalking different game. I just keep it consistent in the treestand as well.

mine is always on . Have shot with it off didn't notice much difference
