Deer Antler Find
 

My 21 year old son is an avid bowhunter. He was fortunate to harvest 3 deer this winter here in Illinois. One was a big 11 pointer that will make Pope and Young. While out shed hunting the other day he saw what he thought was a fork horn shed sticking out of the snow. when he pulloed it up this is what he found. Both sides still attached to the skull. It scored 150 net. The G2 tine on the right antler is 12 1/2 inches long.

Finding that is a two-edged sword... Awesome to find and have, but horrible to know that it's dead..

That is a nice buck...it is too bad he was found dead. Better than nothing I guess.

Too bad he didn't get a crack at him. It's nice to know there are bucks like that running around on his hunting land. Nice find.
