Just got back
 

Well we just got back from the hog hunt.

First it was great to meet Greg (txjourneyman) he's a real nice guy and done everything he could for us.

Unfortunatley we never got any hogs but we did have hogs around us the whole time we where there,they just did not want to cooperate and come out of the thick stuff.

About 10 minutes after I got on stand I had a coyote come in and quickly leave, I took out my old trusty fox whistleandcalled him back, he offered me a 23 yard broad side shot but due to some twigs covering his vitals I did not send the arrow on it's way.

All in all we had a great time even tho none of us got a shot off, I will say this it was just great being back out in the woods again, I really did not care if I got anything or not, I was just happy being out there and doing what I love to do, this was my first hunt in over 2 years.

We are hoping to get back out there next week end weather permitting and if Greg can get a sitter forthe kids.

Greg it was a pleasure to meet you and spend the time at you place;)

Glad you had a good time and as you said, we don't have to kill something to have a great hunt. I may have to try to work on some coyotes, just wish it would warm up a little more first.

At least you were hunting, sounds like you had a good time! I know hunting seems just a brutal thought right now in the bitter sub zero temps we are having here! I bet it was beautiful weather for your hunt?

First hunt in 2 years[:o], man I bet it WAS good to get back out there again.

Don't worry, those pigs will be there waiting for ya next week.

I'll be going myself next week and can't wait to try and stick the flea bitten oinkers.

It's almost too cold here to ice fish, bet the weather in TX is nice this time of year.

Yeah the weather was great for hunting probably around 40 degrees.

I tell ya man it was great to be back out there and now that I have changed jobs and can get back out there and hunt with my buddies I will guarrante I will be out there every chance I get.

Glad you had a good time dude! Sometimes ya just gotta recharge the batteries, and if txjourneyman is HALF as nice as he seems on here......I'm certain you did just that. Hey, I haven't seen him for a while.....hmmmmmmmm......I just realized that...

ya I am kinda jealous, up here in alberta it's just too darn cold for bow hunting, it's been in the -30's celc for the last 2 weeks and I'm just so busy at work I don't have the time, BUT we have a Black Bear hunt planned for April, WOOHOO, can't wait

Well I'm glad you guys had some fun, I was out there but all I saw were deer and about 30 skuns... no piggies for me either. Russell, maybe the pigs were scared of that black ice.

Haha, that's good pig prisoners are expensive to fee. I think we killed 14 or 15 skunks in 2 days... it was nuts.

The shoulder is doing really well, I think another 3-4 weeks and I should be back in full swing. We'll get a pig hunt together relatively quickly...
