RE: Pics/Story of my non recovered deer
I feel your pain but coyote's have to eat to! Just kidding, I know this may start a whole new controversy but me and many of my bud's use tracking strings on our bow's. Since changing to this set up we have been able to increase our sucess on finding deer by ten fold. The reason is this: When you make a shot thats not a pass through you dont get good blood right away (usually). Normally we get a couple hunder yards of string out before it breaks and we hunt pretty thick areas in northern michigan. By the time the deer has ran a few hundred yards you usually get real good blood. Most of the time we'll find part of the arrow while following the string but always good blood after the first 100-150 yards. We can even tell if were pushing deer because the string will start moving. The last 2 deer I shot were at the end of the string!
Don't listen to the people who say that tracking strings effect your arrow flight either, if you shoot your bow a couple of time with a new string you can elliminate the binding caused by a new string. We have 8 hunters in my camp and all of us use game tracker strings and have had great success....give them a try. |
RE: Pics/Story of my non recovered deer
cods, if you want to call it an unrecovered deer fine!
but if if it had been mine I'd hang that sucker on my wall and be as proud as if I'd found him the day i shot him. he's still just as dead! I wouldn't feel bad about lettin your desire for a trophy animal overide your ethics. If everbody own this board would be honest, I'll bet 100% would admit being guilty of the same thing before. for all you that beleive this deer was not a recovery, the next time you shoot a pope& young, and for whatever reason you don't find him till 2 days later, then maybe you should just abide by the (didn't find him in time for consumtion law) and leave the antlers layin there. because you have nothin to be proud of- nothin to tell your friends about. so why would you even want to keep the antlers<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> daytona 500 winner- Ward Burton go Cat-22 |
