SE Ohio Help with Lease PLEASE

I have a group of 4-5 Christian, family oriented bowhunters that are interested in leasing land in SE Ohio. If anybody here can help me, please reply or PM me. I am from NC and do not know anyone in this area. I have tried Google, etc. but have not had much luck.

Thanks,

Depending on time of year you wanted to hunt, you can have pretty decent luck on public land, and there is a lot of it. Be cautious with what you lease, you may end up getting a piece of land that is not really big enough for more than a couple guys to hunt, because of the open areas vs. woods, and the shape of the land. Good luck.

RE: SE Ohio Help with Lease PLEASE

OH has good advice. Mead leases a lot of land for around $5-6 per acre. However, they sold a lot of land last year so I don't know what the current status is. A MAJOR problem with leasing in SE Ohio is the amount of poachers that you will have on your leased land. You will have to deal with it if you lease so just be aware of that. After having done it for a few years I am never doing it again down there. There are just too many hillbillies who have no respect for anyone or anything. Plus, like said before, there are a lot of FREE opportunities in Ohio on good publlic lands.

huntingson,
Thanks for the input. I am actually overwhelmed at the amount of public land in OH after looking on the web today. Could you point me to a good place to start? The link to the Mead land and AEM land does not work right now.
