This doesnt sound right

alright this has to do with KE

with one setup I can shoot 383gr arrow

with the lowest setup being 65lbs and 28"
highest setup being 73lbs and 28.5
with 16 grains on the string these will produce 269-277 fps respectively, ok? But the KE according to a fill in the blank site will be 61-65ft lbs

the other setup I can shoot 409gr arrow
same weight ranges but this time the fps are 260-269 respectively, according to the KE site these 2 setups will have the same amount of KE.

Is this right?

Using both your highest velocities yes this is correct.but don't forget to include momentum;)another juicy aspect

Momentum is a much better indicator of penetration than KE. KE is better suited for bullets because the bullet is actually transferring its energy to the animal to kill it. Arrows kill by cutting so you want to be able to penetrate the arrow thorugh the animal.

It doesn't really matter with your set up though. You have enough momentum and KE to kill any deer in the woods.
