Buckmaster G2? Compare to Mathews/Hoyt?
Here's part of their ad:
We dare you to compare the Buckmaster G2 against any bow. 309fps, 3lbs9oz, Sims Riser & limb dampening (reduces vibration 2x theirs). Competition: 305fps, 3lbs10oz, Riser damping / no limb damping. In its class..it will beat the competition hands down. Its faster, quieter, lighter and $499. What's your take? What about smooth? |
RE: Buckmaster G2? Compare to Mathews/Hoyt?
dhacker,
I think the G2 is every bit as quiet and vibration free as my Havoctec. I have shot both and probably could not pick one over the other in regard to these two qualities. As for the speed issue....I would again say that they are about equal....even though the G2 has an IBO rating that is 9 fps faster with a similar cam. I think the PWC2 is a relatively smooth single cam....but it has the typical perimeter weighted cam feel....loonnnngg peak weight and then a sudden drop off into a relatively short valley.....though at the back wall it feels like you are holding literally no weight at all. Hope this helps. |

or for $30 more, try the Parker Ultra Lite 31. 2.9 pounds, 316 fps IBO, 7" brace height. Stick a lightwave stabilizer or limbsavers on there and you will have a dead-quiet bow. Bare-bow it was the quietest and least shocky bow I shot when I was looking for a shortie but I didn't shoot the G2. I shot the SQ2 and the HovocTec though and the parker was $100 less.

The thing is that the G2 can usually be found for $399.
