Easily $2,500 a year.

What with turkey season, deer season, elk season, duck and goose season, then whatever various small game and varmit hunting I did, I easily spend $2,500 a year.

Now if we wanted to throw fishing into the equation, you could probably add another $1,000 - $1,500.

New bow a year for each of us, tags, licenses, gas, clothing, stands, blinds, loss of work ; I don't want to know. Still cheaper and healthier than hanging out in a bar.

I quit smoking when cigarettes went from 50 cents to 55 cents a pack. Even figuring only a dollar a day (I was blowing two packs a day into the wind) then I've saved close to $24,000 since. Since cigs are more like five bucks a pack now, I've actually saved a heckuva lot more than that!

Any way you figure it, it's more than enough to pay for my archery habit, so I don't even think about it.
