Here's another thing I do when reactivating it. I put it in the dryer for longer than stated and remove it before it begins the cool down stage since it starts absorbing below a certain temp. I put it a seal bag hot.

Reactivation according to the manufacture does nothing to the garment. Do it as often as you like. I also do not use any type of scent when preparing the garment and don't handle it unless I spray my hands down first.

Beware of dryers at the laundromat. They are much hotter and will melt any plastic on the garment (ball caps and the like). My garments smell roasted when they come out of the dryer.

I think where these companies get into trouble is when the make statements like forget the wind and just hunt. It's bogus advertising and a lie because you'll never get rid of 100% of your scent.

If they are going to decieve you there where else are they going to do it?

All you have to do is have someone put it one get up in a tree and see if it works or have them sit in the woods and see if it blobs up at a distance or walk by a guy at ten yards and not see them. Apples to oranges comparison. These companies aren't proclaiming you can take an age old fact about hunting(use the wind to your advantage) and throw it away and you still be as succesfulare they?

If Predator camo tried to tell me I could sit with nothing behind me totally skylined and not be seen I'd question them too.


Read the info on how Baking soda works to control scent no lack of scientific facts with that.

GMMAT and many others have stated things like this on the thread my question is why use the suit then. Your doing exactly what the company is telling you not to do.

I have a charm I can sell you with some basic scent control information thrown in for free that I guarnetee you will get you seeing more deer and you might just take the buck of a life time.

Also noticed that you are supposed to buy this stuff every 3-5 years,and they claim that is the normal life of a persons camo. I have spent good money on stuff and have used it for ten years with out alot fading etc. More marketing for the masses?

So a report from SL you believe.......but from others, you don't?? Weird logic.

Commisioned the report??......you must be kidding. There were about 100 things wrong with that "document". It tells nothing of methods (except that SL dictated them) and it doesn't explain it's data at all. In the 20ml sample the "regenerated" sample absorbed MORE then the original. Rediculous figures like that negate any value of that piece of paper.......there is absolutely no science in that "document".


That is EXACTLY why those tests are meaningless........you answered your own question.


Why do you keep saying this?? It means nothing. You have more people in this thread with higher education and experience levels with both carbon and bowhunting then him. I don't know what your education and experience level is but please don't assume everyone but Greg dropped out of high school.

Here is a MAJOR problem with this topic. People trying to "learn" about chemisrty and science by surfing the internet. It's VERY difficult to have a useful debate on this topic if half the people in the group are getting their information from something they saw on youtube and the other half thinks the periodic table is when their wife or girl friend gets crabby each month.


Then it doesn't work. If you can't prove it scientifically it doesn't exist....it is mere hypothesis, theory, hopes, thoughts, dreams, etc. Drug companies can SAY that their drug does everything under the sun........and no one cares.........until they PROVE it it double blind, randomized, placebo controlled unbiased studies.........THEN the FDA will decide whether or not to approve their claims. Without proof you can say whatever you want.


Please explain how you can prove that.


If you don't care when the wind changes.........why do you play the wind at all?? "Forget the wind..........just hunt" Right?

I don't know of any claims made by either of those companies that go against the foundational laws of chemistry and science.

Like I said if they told me forget about the skyline or back cover I'd question that wouldn't you?
