I find certain hunts more fun than others. Deer is a good time i really enjoy it but it don't hold a candle to my elk huntin. Its not the elk so much just the 2 guys from the south part of the province that come up to my place to hunt. They camp out in my yard and we have a blast. Everynight we are back in camp tellin stories, some of em are even true. Throw in some goose huntin usually also to break up the elk action. Best time in the world.

huntin turkeys is a blast, deer huntin is always feast and alot of famine (not seeing any thing) it is nice when I get some thing though

I dont understand it sometimes, like when cant feel my feet cause im so cold or rain is running down the crack of my a$$ like Niagra falls, but im still having a blast.

-I catch myself grinning ear to ear a LOT while hunting
-I have a phrase I use to describe events I see "That's worth the price of admission"
-I can't wait to get home and tell my wife everything I've seen

-When you come in from a big night out......and go straight to the stand....instead of going to bed.....you KNOW you love hunting. I did that, twice, this year!

I can't think of anything else that could get me up at 4 in the morning. I can't sleep at night, can't work, can't think about anything else but hunting for a month before the season opens.

Nuff said! If it were just fun, and not SO MUCH MORE, I'd still be sleepin in on those cold windy mornings. But you know I'm sitting in that stand when the sun comes up every chance I get. So it's beyond fun for me.

I love to bowhunt. I have always beenthe outdoors type of person. So any time I can get out anywhere in woods, I'm happy. Not sure how I would act if the only two spots (close to town and a treelinenext tosome timber) I have to hunt, had a better deer population. With the limited amout of timber or timber that has no one hunting it already. The only two spots so far that I am able tohunt, have a very low deer poulation. You can sit for a week or so straight without seeing anythings, it does test your dedication sometimes. I do manage to get at least one a year, but I definitely earn it. It sure makes for a rush when it all comes together though!!! Just seeing deer is a successful hunt for me sometimes.....But, ya just gotta love it..;)

Iowa? Canada? How about Kansas, you know, God's country! Hunting or just being outdoors, when I was a kid I never spent time indoors watching TV or playing video games. I was out side building forts, hunting with my daisy, getting poisen ivey..ect. The kids now a days don't have a clue! I can't put into words how it makes me feel but I just love taking someone out with me that has never been and seeing the look on their face when they experience being at the right place at the right time! Truly a gift from God!

I use hunting as a form of punishment. Whenever I'm naughty, I punish myself for two weeks. Nothing but hunting. Man, is it awful, being forced to hunt. The bad part is that I never learn, and make the same mistakes over and over again. I've been so bad that I don't think that I'll ever be able to stop hunting. It seems that I've been doomed to hunting for the rest of my life. I sure hope the rest of you can learn from this and not have to endure the pain that I've dealt to myself![:-]

Yep, some say I'm nuts, spending so much valuable time and money to sit in a tree by myself trying to outwit these creatures.

It's the weirdest thig ever. Most worldly things in life become "old hat" after a while.......with hunting it's just the opposite. My passion and "urge" grows more and more each year.

The only words that enter my mind when I hunt are...Great googly moogly...[8D]. Except I'd rather go to Kansas instead of Iowa(sry HCH;)).

It's amazing to me how it makes me feel, hence the vote of can't explain how I feel. You really can't to those non-hunters, only other hunters can understand.

With a few exceptions it is when every thing makes the most sense to me! I never feel more alive or as in tune as when I am hunting.I can't imagine my life without it!

Dangit, I voted and didn't read the next to last option![:@] I tell you what, nothing can explain how I feel when I am in the woods. I could just be scouting in the preseason or in my stand during peak-rut and NOTHING beats it. After a hard day at work or just anything stressful, when I am in the woods, all else disappears. Even if I don't see deer, I still just enjoy being outside and being away from the hassles of everyday life. Just like fishing. Once hunting season is over, I look forward to the early morning trout fishing to come with nothing but the sound of the creek/river rolling over the nearby rocks. :D
