RE: this is a deer stand
ORIGINAL: travisville I would say the owner should put a computer in and log into huntingnet that way it would be like a live hunting update. Not cheating in my mind, the only thing that is cheating is high fencing in my opinion. |
RE: this is a deer stand
ORIGINAL: newman1 ORIGINAL: jake smith09 I hate people like you. You give hunters a really bad name with doing things like that.Thats really cheap. There is no hunting in that. Its not hunting if you get cold and all you have to do is walk 5 feet to get warm or to go let a load off or eat. There is no hunting in that..... its just really cheap!!!!!!!!! |
RE: this is a deer stand
Here is what i like about the setup;).First I wish i had enough money to have one on my property.I would absolutely not use it to hunt out of,but it would make an outstanding toolto scout from.I think it would be very cool to be able to sit up there with some buddies watching football having a few choice beverages and checking to see whats out in the fields. Now i agree with Fletch Ny that it is not decorated quite the way it should be for my taste, but then it's not my stand:)

RE: this is a deer stand
Oh yeah, not just the pc and the webcam, the electronically controlled 7mm Rem Mag's with the touch of a mouse!
|
RE: this is a deer stand
I think that it is definitely way over the top for a "stand," but cool never the less. I wouldn't mind hunting it with a scoped ML when it is real cold out.
|
RE: this is a deer stand
thats one hellova stand
|
RE: this is a deer stand
It's definately not cheating, he/ she is just a person who has a lot more money than the majority of people on this forum. If someone was to say go ahead and hunt in it, I know I wouldn't say no, if I knew it was in a good location. I dream of such a stand, when I'm shivering in my stand when it's 20 degrees out and 25mph winds and not seeing a damn thing!!!
The others said it right,,, Its cheating when your high fence hunting, like the guys on realtree outdoors, when they're at the Sanctuary in Michigan. That's not hunting, that's called shooting!!!! Or like big Ted (Nugent) when he's hunting Axis deer in Texas, 20 yards from a watering station, now that's not hunting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These famous individuals are the ones that give hunting a bad rap! This guy or gal is just someone way more financially capable than me, and maybe if I had the means I would have something like this, just with a little different design on the inside, a little to fruittyyyyyyyyyyy for my taste!!!! P.S. Come on lighten up, it looks more like someones personal nature observation deck, I'm sure they don't even hunt! |
RE: this is a deer stand
WOW....is the only word to describe that.
|
RE: this is a deer stand
Why dosent this guy just shoot them out the window at his house like my white trash neighbor.
This is cheating. |
RE: this is a deer stand
my wife showed me that in an email she got and its a good location and great idea but the decorator needs to be shot and id have to think its illegal to shoot out of it or around it due to safety zones 150 yds for rifle and 50 yds for archery if its in the state of Pa i agree it would be a great place to hide the girlfriends so wife dont find them LOL
|
RE: this is a deer stand
That's overkill right there. That ain't hunting---that's shooting them in your backyard. That blind IS about as big as our house:D[8D][&:][X(]:)

|
RE: this is a deer stand
That is pretty sweet. I'd rather sit in a regular blind in the freezing cold, though.
|
RE: this is a deer stand
Yeah, but I bet it's a pain to pack and move when the wind changes.

RE: this is a deer stand
holy crap that thing is huge!! i wonder how the owner ever came up with the idea and structural support for that....thanks for sharing!
|
RE: this is a deer stand
To me its still hunting, unless these deer have become pets. Would I do it? No, but thats because to me part of hunting is being outdoors and to me this just seems like another home. Would be a good way to introduce newcomers to hunting though
|
RE: this is a deer stand
DAVIDMIL, is already famous.
To Quote My Pop. I'd luv to know what he has forgotten. O and David I've offered to you before, WNhen your on your way to New York Next year buy a non restag for Pa. and I'll put you in a good seat! Not 20 mi off I 95.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D |
RE: this is a deer stand
David is still in a good place:D
|
RE: this is a deer stand
Nice stand. Does it come with carrying straps? How much does it weigh?
|
RE: this is a deer stand
Yes, but is it fenced? I wouldn't waste my time in that hovel unless it has fenced 100 acres of prime deer habitat, and biologic food plots.
They even ran below ground power to it. No bed, furnishings are too exotic for my taste. Fun place to hang out and get away. Wonder if it has wireless access? I wouldn't hunt it as a primary stand but if I was hanging out there and it was legal I wouldn't mind having a rifle just in case. I don't mind being opportunistic and my manhood isn't pinned to how difficult it is to kill the deer. (I could always hang upside down over the rail to raise the difficulty level) The railing is too high for a bow though. (to keep this thread on track, it is a bowhunting forum you know) |
RE: this is a deer stand
I have a hard enough time staying awake in a regular stand, I would never see anything out of that.
|
RE: this is a deer stand
Hmmm, shooting a deer while still in your robe drinking coffee - warm, dry and comfortable . . . ?
No, give me the cold, windy, rainy, snowy weather with nothing that draws a breath walking by your stand . Now THAT'S hunting!:D |
RE: this is a deer stand
Wow, that is something!
I think it would be a cool cabin to stay in during a hunt. I onced stayed in a fire look out tower that the USFS did not use anymore and the park service rents it out now. ![]() |
RE: this is a deer stand
ORIGINAL: timbercruiser I'm currious about all the urns. Looks like the cremated remains of some of Dick Chaney's hunting partners........:D |
RE: this is a deer stand
I would just about bet youa deer has never been shot out of that place. I would guess it just a great location toput up a small cabin like that. Just look at the view, would you shoot a deer out of the window? I think that it would just take away fromwhat that place has to offer....IMO! Would probably change the inside to more of a cabin feel, couple nice mounts ect...

RE: this is a deer stand
thats about as big as the bungalo I stay in ... :)
|
RE: this is a deer stand
Everybody says thats cheating. So are the deer dumber? Because as far as i can see its a glorified box blind. If you wanna call this cheating, then you have to call box blinds cheating. Now i personally hunt outta a lock on, and wouldn't have it anyother way. But some people can't handle the weather. So because someone wants to be MUCH more comfortable we are gonna call them a cheater? What about scopes on a gun? you only have to set within 200 yds. WHat about bows that are shooting 300+ fps? Trailcameras, food plots, Handwarmers? They are all tools. Just another thing to help our chances at tagging a big one. Maybe we should all just hunt with a small stick? It cant be a big stick with a sharpened point....cause thats cheating...

shoot2thrill25, see the "subjective nature of hunting vs. shooting" thread.
