I edited your links so they would be accessible. If it was a rifle kill, it belongs in another forum.

What is a rifle? Hoyt Ultratec, goldtip arrows, carter release, Innerlock stainless extrems heads, trophy taker rest, Sureloc leathal weapon single pin sight. Rifles are for late cow elk hunts.

Thats a nice muley. How did you keep your wife from blacking your eye by having that bad boy in the kitchen?

I didn't want to say how far cause it could start some controversy.....We shoot a little farther out west.

My wife took the picture! I was hunting alone and it was dark when I got home so it was in the house or in the dark. I had my jacket under it so nothing got on the floor. You should see the kitchen table when I cut up a Elk!

Smart man, smart man I said it double one for the distance hush hush and the other because you had your wife take the picture in the kitchen...wouldn't work in my house.

Don't worry about other opinions. You know your effective range and your ethics are yours. If you shot him at 75 yards or 7 yards,it is your business and no one elses. The computer ethics police tend to get rediculous at times, just take them with a grain of salt.

And by the way,great mulie.

I may have to take another member up on his offer a bit sooner than planned if you people keep posting pictures of these beautiful animals.;)

I think you missed your aim point by 2mm!;) Heck of a shot at 20 yards or 90 yards... especially with buck fever.

You are right to do so. For some reason there are a lot of folks on here who will not open their minds to anything but deep woods whitetail hunting from a treestand. I understand that whitetail is the most commonly hunted but it certainly is not the only thing hunted.

Congratulations on a great shot and great deer.

I lived in Colorado for several years. I've elk hunted out there 10 + years. I've hunted Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico, western KS, South Dakota.

My average shot was under 20 yards, several bull elk, several mule deer, several whitetails.

Ya'll might shoto farther ........ but its not because of geographical location, its because of choice

RE: The mule deer invasion (pics)

Every shot has it's risks, knowing what the risk is is what makes a good shotor bad shot. Most of us know our effective range but that is not the problem. Our mind is our worst enemy, greed, poor judgement, no self control, are all the things that make a shot go south, it really has nothing to do with the distance. I would take a close shot over a far shot any day but, I can and will take a longer shot if conditions are right and they rarely are.
