Shoot-em Both!!<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> NOT!

I personally do not like non-T's as much as a well form typical. Some of the non-T's are really ugly!

RE: What if???

YES BASSERMAN! ANOTHER TYPICAL FAN! I wouldn't hesitate to take the typical either. Everybody goes GAGA over the nons but I like the symetry of a beautiful typical rack. Give me a 180 class, thick massed, 10 point next to a 200 class non and I'll shoot the 10 point.

KEEP IT LEGAL. KEEP IT SAFE. OR WE MAY NOT GET TO KEEP IT AT ALL.

That situation only happens in my dreams! I would probably miss both of them

200 non-typical is nice, but really not that huge. 200 typical is the stuff dreams are made of. Tyipical for sure.

I would shoot the typical for the same reason Nub gave.

RE: What if???

I would get ready, slowly draw my bow back and put the pin on the typical to the left. Then realize too late that I'm still smoking a cigarette, as the hots burn through my string. My arrow would fly straight up and out of sight while the end of the string slaps me in the eye, disorienting me enough so I fall out of my stand. Lucky Me! I have a safety harness on! WooHoo I'm not dead. Then the arrow starts it's downward flight slicing clean through my safety harness leaving me piled up on the ground in a heap and the remaining hots from my cigarette burning a hole in my camo'd butt. The deer would run in opposite directions, waking the fat, drunken oafs in the surrounding trees just in time for them to make a once in a lifetime textbook kill shot. As I lay there in pain I think &quot; Shoulda taken the non&quot;...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Considering that you cannot eat antlers, unless you grind them into powder and use them as some type of erroneous dietary or sexual enhancing potion, I would take the one that appeared to offer the best table fare.

RE: What if???

Dog - I live and hunt in Indiana also and since 1989 have only seen two non-typ's and the first one wouldn't have green scored 100. The second is an 11-point with forked G2's that looks as if it could have cross-bred with a muley! He's hanging on my wall, haven't had him scored for net since his green score was only 153 3/8. Dried score would be below the P&Y min. of 150.

But I'm not so concerned with thropy racks. If I can harvest one within my personal limitations, I would probably take the first one that I seen. Typ or not.

Trushot the only part you left out was the fire getting in your eye as the bow string slapped it! LOL

Dog seeing as to how I have never gotten a non-typical, I have a fascination for them, so I would take the Non-typical, scores do not mean diddly to me, don't get me wrong the bigger the better, but unless it is at least a state record I wouldn't waste my time or money to put on &quot; In the books&quot;. Va. does not have many non-typicals, the only one I have ever seen in real live was a mounted 6 pointer, not real big at all, but cool non the less. It had 4 points on one side and the other side was like smashed flat with a weird browtine that ran along its skull towards its eye and the other tine wrapping upwards along the skull towards its ear.

By the time I got done with the eeeenie meeeenie minie moe thing it would be too late!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> But I'd have to agree with Nub on this one!
BTW c903 , a 200 class typical or a 200 class non typical? Good luck deciding which one will make the better table fare<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I would not even think os shooting the non-typ if I had a shot at a just as big typical. Iw ould much rather take a typical than non

I know time is running out...but, did the non typical have any drop tynes? That's what I'm looking for!

RE: What if???

If I could somehow manage to actually daw the bow without it getting in the way of my jaw on the ground I would have to shoot the typical. They are IMO far more beautiful than a nontypical. Especially if it would score 200.

RE: What if???

i would shoot which ever gave me the first good shot...however i would prefer to shoot the 200 typical. shooting a 200 typical would be similar to shooting a 230-240 non-typical. but as &quot;nub&quot; stated a 200 non-typical is nice but not that huge.

Thump... Twang... Crack... What the?? That's a first! I MISSED.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> I should have shot at the Non-Typical, he didn't look near as big!! Well, the good news is.. the tree I killed green scored in the high 250's N-T!!<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

ArcticBowMan 12-05-2002 01:43 AM

RE: What if???

If the non-typical had drops, I'd drop him. The last two antlered critters I have shot had drop tines. The caribou I chose over two others since his rack was unique, and had a large drop tine. There was a bigger bull than him that I could of shot, but something just told me to take the unique one.

RE: What if???

i would stick the one that looked bigger but i would sure like to have a non typical hanging on the wall. but as others have stated i would have to make the shot first and that is a big deal. i do not think anyone could keep from shaking a little on a buck that big.
