Although I do alot of deer hunting , I had to pick Turkey as my favroite reason being that they are so difficult to hunt and so challenging to call

I like the whitetail, because you have to try to outsmart him. I think that's half the fun is the chase.And when u get 2 see a big'n, that makes the whole hunt worthwhile.

I see you list "Deer" and "Mule Deer" as seperate choices. I assume the first "Deer" choice is really Whitetail Deer.

My personal favorite is Roosevelt Elk, but if I had to choose from the deer family, it would be Blacktail Deer, which is a sub-species of Mule Deer.

I know it's a small audience, but don't forget about us West Coast members that don't have whitetails or mule deer to hunt.

My favorite is split tail. I have my favorite gun to use, in fact I've built a nice roof over it to keep it out of the weather. The only problem I've found is that it's works simular to a black powder riffle. You get it all loaded up for the chase but at the end of the evening you have to shoot it by yourself to unload it.[8D]:D[:@]:eek:

Anyone I'm after at the time. Just love to hunt.

I have less use for bears than I do the others though. I think I would grow tired of hunting those the quickest.

So far my favorite is a tie between elk and caribou, but I haven't shot near everything, in fact only whitetail, mule deer, elk , caribou, and turkey, so I don't have the most educated opinion. I hope to change that though over the years ahead.

It is interesting that so many LOVE to turkey hunt. I just can't get that into it. I like it, but of the ones listed above it has to be last. Different strokes I guess. Either that or I am doing something wrong.

turkeys for me. just the way you can hunt them is much more exciteing than deer. deer hunting i just sit still in a stand for hours, turkeys im on the move, calling, stalking, setting up an ambush. much much more enjoyable. though I would not pass up a chance to shoot squirrels though.

Great question....and I'm interested in ll the responses. As a former waterfowler.....it's hard to beat a good wood duck hunt when you're there with a friend or two and a great dog. I liked hunting from a boat, too.....but the impoundments were always my favorite.

I've said it before, though....I had more fun hunting whitetails last season......than I had in all the other hunting seasons....COMBINED. I'll say whitetails.

Not a suprise to most here but i pick elk hands down. The bugling, size of the animals and just different ways we use to hunt them leaves me begging for more each year. I would sooner take a good bull than a book deer. If i put as much time into chasin deer as i do elk oh lordy. lol In my area they are alot tougher to hunt than a deer, cannot pattern them at all which leaves you guessing each day but when you connect oh man is it sweet.

I like whitetail. We have mulies around to and they are fun but are not much of a challenge compared to whitetail. Iwish my state would give out supervisor/boss tags.They really are getting on my nerves lately.

I marked turkey, but you can't beat a western KS quail or phesant hunt with my perfect wimer hunting dog! My dream is to get a chance to go elk hunting in the mountains though! That would kick butt!

Havent for any other big game animals yet, but whitetail truely are special. You can find them anywhere and they will give you fits everywhere.
