Draw length
Okay guys, when I am target practicing I am dead on. But I am not holding it at full draw, I am just pulling back and shooting. When I was in South Texas and had to hold for a moment to get the shot I wanted, I consistently over shot the hogs. I feel no problem holding the bow at full draw, but I can't seem to hold at full draw for a moment or two and still shoot accurately. Could the draw length being too long cause this? We did a rough measurement and it showed to be 25" and the bow is turned down to 25" (the lowest it will go) but my anchor point is further back than hubby's when he is at full draw. Someone said my release could also be a problem but even with a different one, some thing. Any suggestions?

RE: Draw length
do you happen to have any pictures?

RE: Draw length
Have you tried going into a pro shop and shooting a bow with, say, a 24" draw length?

RE: Draw length
No pics .. sorry. Would have to teach hubby how to work the digital camera for that!!
I haven't gone in -- planning on going this weekend. Was just wondering if there is something else I could be overlooking. |
RE: Draw length
I don't think its anything that you're overlooking. It definitely sounds like your draw length is incorrect. You may be able to adjust things slightly with a shorter release, but I honestly think trying a shorter draw length all together is going to fix the problem.

RE: Draw length
I believe Washington hit the nail on the head, go to a proshop and they should be able to fix you up...
