Bowhunter/Hunter Pride

Bowhunters/Hunters, be proud of who you are. We provide a much needed service in the form of keeping animal #'s in check and disease free. We keep vehicle insurance rates lower and we bring a lot of financialrevenue that helps provide biologists and public lands where wildlife can be enjoyed by hunters and non hunters alike. Let friends that aren't hunters know of these services.Don't rub your hunting in non hunters' nosessuch as strappinga bloody deer to the hood of your truck. Conduct yourself professionally as a person and people will respect you. In the same note, don't be ashamed of who or what you do by worrying about the peta propaganda. They are really overrated. I hunt because I enjoy the kill and killing. If I didn't, I would shoot the deer with a dart from my bow and take a pic of my sleeper. I love to see my arrowdrive through a deer and to hear that great "whack" noise from the impact of the arrow. It is extremely cool to me when I see the deer or animal swagger and then drop within sight of my stand. Love it!!I succeeded!! I love the way all of this gets my heart pumping and how the adrenaline causes an uncontrollablereaction through my body. It makes me feel alive!!!Blood gets on a deer or your game, I like clean pics too, but don't be ashamed of your kill because there is blood on it. It is hunting, death is the ultimate outcome and with death comes blood. Enjoy your hunting.
Don

:D:D:DI think you've lost it and went over the top on this one. Seems like people are just like the hunting magazines lately. Everyone is trying to create the newest catchy thread. Your post is full of holes. For example, we keep insurance rates lower. Show me one place that's been proven. Seeing how gun hunters kill a whole lot more than bow hunters, if you want to thump chest we should all become bullet launchers. Heck, from your line of thinking, every car that kills a deer lowers the population and therein lowers insurance rates. You see where I'm headed with this. I'm asking you point blank, what are you smoking tonight or are you just trying to come up with the newest and greatest Attaboy thread so some fool can say vote you for President. Really folks, this back slapping patting kudos stuff is just too much at times. You like to bow hunt, fine, do it.

Now as far as the rest, I agree but it doesn't qualify you for President. Many of us have been chastised on this very same forum for suggesting we love to here TWACK. That's our blood in the picture, deer on the ground, swaggering or however you want to put it. Put please, don't accuse us of lowering insurance rates.[8D][8D][8D] HCH for ... well we'll find out.

I agree with HCH, without thinking too much into it. I think the lowering of insurance comes from the insurance company not having to pay for all those wrecked cars, not from a bunch of people being killed. I guess my idea of being proud is a little different since I hunt for meat mainly. I still pose with my deer or turkey, but it's not that important. I keep turkey calls in my pocket, calling at times, I have hunting stickers on my truck. I display the fact that I hunt, using that as a coversation starter. People want to know if I hunt, I proudly say yes and depart or talk hunting. I feel that I make differences in what people think of us, I can't convert everyone but just a few helps. I'm proud of our tradition as hunters and I want to raise my children in the same light.

But deer populations are increasing and deer/vehicle accidents increase yearly. Bowhunters aren't even in the insurance companies thinking.

very true, maybe I'll ask my insurance company for a hunters discount. Do you think I'll get one:D

They are in our IA cities. Deer car accidents and the loss of property and danger to citizens is the reason city bowhunts are taking place in IA. Bowhunting deer in the city is a safe method of thinning out the herds. You are wrong.

In Wisconsin many of the limits set by zones are determined by population density and deer/vehicle crash statistics, info provided by the ins. companies. An extra doe tag,an extended season in some zones etc. While insurance companies don't dictate the limits set their data does help the DNR.

1st off, not running for any office, but thanks for the compliments guys. Insurance rates are based on losses payed. vehicle repairs due to deer, medical payments due to deer car accidents, crop, and property loss due to deer affects our insurance rates. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that fewer insurance claims equals lower rates.David, what are you smoking that does not allow you to see this? Stating that, "Every deer killed by a car isloweringinsurance rates" is about the dumbest comments I have ever heard. Your reply is full of"holes", not mine.No back slapping or chest pumping, just tired of hunters acting like they have to be embarrassed of who they are. Not sorry for my reply David, you brought it on.;)

Don, ins. co. stats are used by the DNR in many areas to help determine seasons and limits ,see my post above!

Personally, I think all the scumbags that provide fraudulent insurance claims are the ones that really drive rates up .. but thats just my opinion .. :)

I know in MO a few years back they started allowing unlimited doe archery tags in St. louis, Co. the area around Kansas City and Columbia just to reduce the numbers. It was a success so now in most of the state you can killas many does with a bow as you want. A lot of the data used in the studies for this project came from Ins. companies. They definatelydo have a say in hunting issues.

Well of course I'm wrong now that you edited you original post. As you stated it originally, I believe I was right on. Insurance companies do base rates on claims and desired dividends for stockholders. Originally you made it sound like we the bowhunters are the salvation of insurance companies and the only ones doing anything about it. It sounded as if it weren't for us the world would come to an end.

Thethread title on thefront page when you posted last night said Bowhunter/Hunter. I added the word "hunter" as soon as Dan caught it, well before you posted. I only edited my post this am by adding one word to include the word "Hunter." How does adding the one word "hunter" all of a sudden make me right today and wrong last night? So wrong that you insulted me by sayingI was obviously "smoking something"
