kinda reminds me of David and Goliath ... the entire Israelite army sits back and gets challenged for 40 days ... doing nothing. ONE DAY A YOUNG BOY WHO BELIEVES THERE IS A CAUSE GOES OUT AND SLAYS THE PHILISTINE CHAMPION. .....OOPS....caps off .....
Interesting you should bring that story up. If I remember right Saul was voted into power. Davids actions had nothing to do with voting.
nodog ....ahhh, but ye err not knowing the scriptures.... The Isralites begged for a king, God gave themSaul to show them that God was the only one they needed to rule over them. Saul was a huge bust, and HE WAS NOT ELECTED .. God put him there. David, however, was the one who believed in something (The Lord), and defeated a lion, bear, Goliath, and many of God's adversaries.

No I do not vote. I have lost all respect for politicians. You cannot trust them no matter what they tell you. I get so sick of their adds on TV. Here in Mo when Clair McCaskill ran against Jim Talent there was not one positive add on TV.All they said is how bad the other guy was, don't vote for him or her.

I used to be a shop steward in a union shop. When Clinton ran they had to support him because he was a democrat. HE WAS FROM A RIGHT TO WORK STATE FOR GOSH SAKES. Yet the Labor Unions supported him because he was a Democrat. Blind Loyalty!!!!

I believe it is also my right to choose NOT TO VOTE.

This is America Right?
It is your right to vote or not..... one day we may not have a choice ... it will be made for us.

I often wonder why people who feel like there is nothing but corruption in government, don't try and run themselves ....... I guess most people would rather just sit back, lukewarm and let things happen the way they happen instead of fighting for a cause ....

kinda reminds me of David and Goliath ... the entire Israelite army sits back and gets challenged for 40 days ... doing nothing. ONE DAY A YOUNG BOY WHO BELIEVES THERE IS A CAUSE GOES OUT AND SLAYS THE PHILISTINE CHAMPION. .....OOPS....caps off .....

You that sit back have a right to do so ..... I wouldn't be proud of it though ... or try and justify it ..... but you have that freedom also ....Thank God for the men and women that fought for something ... for you to do it ......

There is no way on this earth you could get me to run for an office. The honest guy doesn't have a chance with all of those lying POLITICIANS. I would be forced to act like them to have a chance. I would not put my family in the way of their attacks.
I totally disagree ..... but like you said, I will fight for your right to choose not to

I wish there was a party that believed in no foreign aid to other countries, a strong military, our borders secured, low taxes, no welfare to losers that scam the system, and concealed carry permits except for felons and thementally ill.
Don....you sound like you're looking for the Libertarian party.

But Don....did you REALLY say you'd institute socialized medicine??? Really? For all the views you showed above.....to promote big government getting involved in our healthcare matters, frankly,.....surprises me. I want WAY, WAY, WAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY LESS government.

Teejay.....You asked...

What would have Gore done after 911? Give them a big ol "You better not do that again or else" pfft Al Gore please!
Or else "what"? He'd have done exactly what he and Bill did when our WTC was bombed the first time......and when the USS Cole was bombed.

NOTHING. In my opinion.....it's what's led the terrorists to think they're so empowered, today. Al and Bill (and all liberals) have forgotten the "Carry a big stick" part of the "walk soft" statement.

Germ....we agree on most but differ on our Iraq views, it seems. If GWB had invaded Afghanistan and stomped outOBL prior to 9/11 (therefore thwarting the attack on our country)....he'd have been considereda hero by many but still chastised by the left as being a "Hawk". In MY eyes....(along with many other Americans)....I think his PRE-EMPTIVE actions in Iraq did 2 things: No. 1 -- He crushed the threat of similar attacks by Sadaam Hussein. No. 2 -- He sent the message to other terrorist (and terror harboring) nations that we will not sit back while you prepare to mete out punishment on us by preparing your armies.

You think Lybia got the message?????

Great post .... I couldn't have said it better myself :D... as a matter of fact, I couldn't have said it that good![X(]

I vote in every election at every level of goverment. What good is having the ability to vote in a free society if you don't appreciate that right?I am a registered republican but I will cross party lines to vote for a person I feel represents the issues that are important to me.This is especially so in non national elections.

Yep, I always vote. I pick the folks who are closest to my views and vote for 'em. (I think expecting any candidate to agree with me 100% is pretty unrealistic.)

Well PreacherTony I do believe this is the wrong forum for this, but IMO it is you who are wrong. The people voted for a king like themselves, Saul fit the bill.God gave them what they voted for. David was not, but pressed into service. The people never said give us David in fact the people tried to kill him like many revolutionaries (remind you of anybody. If it does that, IMO, is the proper use of this passage)I also don't believe the story was given to prove anything about voting,so in my estimation it is you who are taking the scriptures out of context as well as (voting or not) being something you have a hard time staying on topic about.

Once again I say get educated with some history and in this case that would be with early church history and in particular their views on voting for an earthly leader. You could start with the amish view. It has changed little. The history of voting in this country would be good to read at the same time. If you then presented a case from these findingsfor voting over not voting, I'dbe more inclined to listen. As it is, you remind me of the media. Same tactics. Fear!I turned them off a long time ago and found, I could think for myself. Stopped attending any organized "Church" as well. Just couldn't see any difference in the too. I see things haven't changed. Church meetings where people voted were just as ugly an affair (just to keep this on topic):D

And just to keep this whole subject at least for my part a bowhunting topic, the history of the times of Carthage have some great bowhunting stories.:DOne about the huge packs of wolves that filled the land.:D(might as well piss of another crowd).
