ya never know the hunter could have flinched made a horrible shot or the deer just might have heard or seen it coming and tried to make a run for it and caught the arrow in the worst spot but miraculously lived through it.

hoyt is right. accidents happen. flinch, hard tourque, jumping the string etc. my mother bought me Tom Mirandas Bowhunting Encylopedia DVD. he shows a guy he knew shooting a buck in the head. 2 things go wrong. the arrow hits something and goes CRAZY off track..and the buck moves its head. arrow nails him right in the back of the head crumbling him. Tom said it..he gets more grief over that video segment than any other. but shows it because its part of hunting and shows how terribly bad something can go.

and deer are amazing animals. its amazing how much they can take and remain alive and healthy. amazing animals

geezz people, calm down. That is horrible about the deer, and I can't imagine what prompted such as shot.

But, nice photshop none the less!

“For a second I considered letting the deer go so it would get bigger, but then I thought that if I did that someone else would shoot it anyway so I shot,” said Leith, a former Cumberlander who now lives in Carroll County."

Worst part of that story!!!! Its a shame because that is common thought of people here in MD..... oh well

It may be common for SOME people in MD, but certainly not all. Thankfully we also have a lot of folks who"let em go, let em grow".
