Hey guys my wife just ordered one up for me. She knew some trick in dealing with the JC Penny's web page when it comes to ordering things. Evidently Penny's will only ship to certain areas so I had to have mine shipped to my parents place in S. Wisconsin for it to work. Otherwise we got the same response as THWACK. Thanks for the info bent arrow you made my Christmas.

I ordered 2 and the website said in stock will ship in 1-3 days. One will be my dads Christmas present......

Thanks for the heads up. I wonder how they are selling these so cheap?

I bought the very same model three weeks ago for 169.00 at Academy. The Pennys deal is a good one. So is the range finder. I looked at several of the higher priced models and opted for this one because of teh 4x magnification rather than 8x. I found that when bow hunting I could use it rather than my binocs. and get double duty with less hanging around my neck. As said in the previous thread, they are good down to 6-7 yards and out to over 200 depending on reflectivity of the object you are ranging. I took a 8 point buck last Saturday with total confidence because I KNEW the distance first. No estimating, just textbook shooting. It was my first heart shot kill too. If any of you guys hunt in the warm south you might also be interested in scent loc sneakers! I picked up a pair from Cabela's for 39 bucks and find them to be super light on the feet and quiet in the woods. My feet start to stink in rubber boots after several uses. These go in the dryer with suit and haven't got that smell going at all.

SCOW.... I've been using those ScentLok camo sneakers for 4 or 5 years now. They're just great in early season. I bought a couple pairs and bought them big enough to put a couple pairs of heavy socks in. They tend to run a little small. The first pair I bought was way small. Sent them back and got some 2 sizes bigger than my shoes... and at times I wish I'd bought one pair in the next size up. That way when it rains or there is heavy dew... I throw on a pair of light liners and a pair of Goretex socks over them. I have an insulated pair or goretex socks and a non insulated set for warmer weather. Those sneakers were $39 5 years ago.

Anybody know a secret to getting an order to go through? I've been trying for two days, and it just says "no longer available"... I did put my name on a list by calling the number on the website, but I don't trust that procedure. I want one NOW! (It's my Christmas present to me! )

And Bent Arrow, does the promotional code only work if you're ordering using an American Express? That's what they told me...

Mine are on the way shipped today.

I used a Visa and had no problem getting the 10 bucks off.

Could a guy save money on a used range finder - or are they too hard to find? Maybe not worth the risk?? I had a hard enough time buying a bow w/ setup for $1,000 and still wanting to bang it around in the woods. If I could get my hands on a cheap, used range finder, I wouldn't have a problem worrying about it. It seems like the more I spend on my gear, the less I think about the important things - execution / success. Any tips??

Haugen, I don't think you're gonna find anything cheaper than $100 for a quality laser rangefinder out there, used or not.
